My Fifty Shades of Grey outfit – pt. 2

Fifty Shades Look (1)

Today is exactly one year ago that I went to see the movie Fifty Shades of Grey with my best friend. In part 1 I wrote about seeing the movie and how we lost the first 15 minutes because we were late. Well, I didn’t went to see the movie a second time, but I watched it again entirely on the airplane on my way to Suriname last summer. What I still wanted to share with you is the outfit I had on that day at the cinema. Continue reading “My Fifty Shades of Grey outfit – pt. 2”

Casual or fancy wearing the same scarf

Blue scarf

When it comes to accessories the scarf is by far one of my favorites. It’s almost like I’m obsessed with buying and collecting scarves. Even when I’m outside, I find myself staring at other people’s scarves wondering where they got it from. Today I like to show you how I used one of my favorite scarves as the main accessory in two different ways last fall/ winter season. The casual way wearing jeans and the fancy way wearing a dress. Sporting I Love Su and a fro in Ibiza

Ibiza Su 13 Collage

In these cold winter times it’s always fun to look back at those warm sunny vacations you had in the past. Even though winter has his charms, I’m a sunshine loving girl who will pick a cocktail under a palm tree vacay anytime. But giving the fact that I just recently had a mini break in Barcelona and not going anywhere now, at least not in the next few weeks, I wanted to take this time and look back on some of my sunny trips in the recent past. Same outfit, two looks

Fall outfit Nov (5)

What can one do to give an outfit two different looks when going outside the door? That’s simple, just change a jacket for a coat. These two looks I shot last fall/winter season, but I haven’t got around to share it back then, so I thought why not now. It’s the winter season again and these looks are still very much up to date and I guess they will be years from now. Mainly because of two reasons: the faux leather jacket and the trench coat. Throw these on a classic denim and a sweater outfit and you have two looks that will never go out of style.   Continue reading “Same outfit, two looks”

Dressed for a Spring Wedding in Amsterdam

Spring Wedding Intro

Sunshine, singing birds, fresh young leaves and flowers. It can mean only one thing: Spring time! Even though it is officially spring for a month now, I for one am still waiting for the real warm spring days to arrive. Although, I may not complain, because the first true spring day already made her entrance on April 10, here in the Netherlands. This day was proclaimed “Skirt Day”, which basically means that it is the first day of spring when suddenly a lot of ladies are wearing a skirt with bare legs underneath. But Skirt Day wasn’t the only thing happening, as I had a Spring Wedding to attend on that same Sunny Friday of April. Continue reading “Dressed for a Spring Wedding in Amsterdam”

MBFWA Outfit Day 2: Snow-White and Navy Blue

Outfit Day 2 collage

For day two of MBFWA I wanted to wear something much more different from day 1 and went with a complete opposite look. This day I wanted to keep it sweet and girly and choose to wear a dress instead of pants. As I was also visiting the Zalando 10 Days Downtown Event called ‘Fashion & Ballet’ at the Koepelkerk, Renaissance Hotel, I picked out a dress that to me matched the feeling of ballet. Since it had snowed that day, I also kinda wanted to blend in with the white color on the streets. So I ended up wearing my snow-white flared skirt dress. It was my first time at the Fashion Week in Amsterdam and I enjoyed myself a lot. Before I share pictures of the shows and the event with you, I want you to have a look at my outfit on the first day. Rocking I Love Su in Barcelona

I Love Su in Barcelona

As you could read in my previous posts, I took a little trip to Barcelona last month to celebrate my birthday. It was nothing too fancy and I spend the day with a small group. Since I’ve been celebrating my birthday for years in the autumn time here in the cold, I couldn’t let the opportunity of going to the beach in October pass me by. So that’s where we headed after a nice lunch, I was wearing my new Denim & Co dress and sunglasses. How amazing it was to have a sunny birthday after all these years. True to myself, I had Italian for dinner at a nice restaurant called Little Italy. Pictures of my birthday can be found on my Instagram.   Continue reading “Rocking I Love Su in Barcelona”

Printed maxi for Barcelona day 1

Barcelona 2014

Hola from Barcelona. It is so good to be back here. Every time I’m in Barcelona I do feel like I’m on holiday for sure. The temperatures, the sun, the breeze, the palm trees, the whole enchilada. Barcelona, te quiero mucho. After a good night of sleep and a good lunch I was ready to take on Barcelona yesterday. Like I told you in my previous post I’m here to celebrate my birthday and, besides from my sister who lives in Barça and my mom who came with me, I invited two special guests with me to come join me for this long Birthday Weekend. City, Beach, Sun and Fun. That’s the theme of my  party this year. Also I’m here for the first fashion show of Caribbean Fashion Spot that is going down on Sunday, October 12 in club Shoko. All black everything as first Fall look 2014

Fall is here. Time to switch up the wardrobe again as I explained earlier in my Goodbye Summer post. For my first day out this season, I went for a simple one colour outfit. The colour which you can never go wrong with. Black. An all black everything outfit is always chic and flattering for your figure. It may not be the outfit combination for miss Anna Wintour, … Continue reading All black everything as first Fall look 2014

Denim and soft colours for Knokke, Belgium

Knokke outfit

Two weeks ago I went on a one day road trip to Knokke with a friend. As the summer was almost coming to an end and I haven’t been abroad since Jamaica, I was feeling spontaneous. So I called up my friend early in the morning to see if she would share my spontaneity and she did. There we were on our way with drinks and snacks for our almost 3 hour road trip with background music and an open rooftop. Halfway we made a pit stop and I had a cheat eat at McDonald’s of which I shared a photo on Instagram. We made it to Knokke around a few minutes past five in the afternoon. Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014

AFWA outfit

The first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam is a fact. Like you can read in my previous post “Africa Fashion Week is taking Amsterdam“, I attended the fashion shows, held in World Fashion Centre (WFC), to volunteer on day 1 and visited as press on day 2. From both days there are cover stories available in the posts about Preparation and Backstage, AFWA day 1 and AFWA day 2. While on day 1 I had my work outfit on, which was a simple black suit and a white blouse, on day 2 it was time to shine again.  Continue reading “Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014”

Throwback Thursday: Denim and Gold from day to night

100_2190

Good evening y’all. And what a good evening it is indeed. Weekend is near and I am so thrilled about that since it’s going to be the weekend of the Africa Fashion Week in Amsterdam (AFWA 2014), which I will attend and am so excited about. Tomorrow I’m going to look for an outfit in the stores. But tonight I want to give you a quick throwback just as I did last week with a Flashback Friday post. Now I’m not planning to do this every week yet, but you’re going to see some flashback/ throwback outfits every now and then. For this Throwback Thursday I choose two looks to show you how you can easily switch up your outfit from daytime to a similar look at night. Here I’m sticking to denim and gold. Black with gold sparkles for Bo Monde

Bo Monde Juni 20141

Good evening everyone. Another night blogging from my couch after catching up on some fashion news and going through a few emails. In my post from yesterday I told you about the party with an elite touch to it, Bo Monde in Amsterdam. Today I like to share the look I was rocking that night. For this event there was a dress code of black, white, and gold. As usual you can imagine that not everybody followed this, but as the good girl I am, I did. It can be a challenge to find an outfit that suits the dress code just fine and I’m always up for a challenge. But in this case I didn’t have to think long and hard because I choose to wear an outfit I already worn before. Ooeh, talking about an outfit repeater. Double slit maxi and representing at Summer Carnaval in Rotterdam

Maxi Su (1)

Good evening from my cosy couch. While I’m on the topic of events these past days, I wanted to share the look I was sporting at another event this summer. Only this time we’re taking it to Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam. Just like you might have seen I’m spending quite a lot of time in Amsterdam, visiting events and festivals, but not so much in Rotterdam. Well what can I say. I Love Amsterdam! But once a year I clear my schedule till early in the evening for my favorite event of the summer. The Summer Carnaval. As a Caribbean/ South American girl, music, dancing, parades and good food is in my blood. Like every year you could find me in Rotterdam for the Summer Carnaval, which was exactly a month ago today.
