Flashback report: First Flormar Professional Make-Up store in Paramaribo

20150914_133729

Many of you who follow my blog may know that I was in Suriname last year in August/ September. While walking in the city of Paramaribo one day, I got a message from a friend there who told me that there was a grand opening of Flormar in downtown Paramaribo. What? Flormar in Paramaribo? Got to see that. So, I took a taxi with the ladies I was with that day and went to check it out. Today I finally got around to share this with you. Casual or fancy wearing the same scarf

Blue scarf

When it comes to accessories the scarf is by far one of my favorites. It’s almost like I’m obsessed with buying and collecting scarves. Even when I’m outside, I find myself staring at other people’s scarves wondering where they got it from. Today I like to show you how I used one of my favorite scarves as the main accessory in two different ways last fall/ winter season. The casual way wearing jeans and the fancy way wearing a dress. Same outfit, two looks

Fall outfit Nov (5)

What can one do to give an outfit two different looks when going outside the door? That’s simple, just change a jacket for a coat. These two looks I shot last fall/winter season, but I haven’t got around to share it back then, so I thought why not now. It’s the winter season again and these looks are still very much up to date and I guess they will be years from now. Mainly because of two reasons: the faux leather jacket and the trench coat. Throw these on a classic denim and a sweater outfit and you have two looks that will never go out of style.   Continue reading “Same outfit, two looks”

Girls Day Out: Fifty Shades of Grey pt. 1

Fifty Shades poster

Last Friday I went to see the film Fifty Shades of Grey in the cinema 1 day after the première. If you’ve read my post about me getting ready for this film, you know that I wrote it right before I actually left the house. Before I went off to get my Fifty Shades on, I felt the need to share it with you and told you that I have not read the book yet. What I also said is that I would at least read about the first encounter of Miss Steele and Mister Grey before seeing the movie (and let the rest of the story be a surprise). Well, I didn’t. Between proofreading my post and getting ready to leave, I didn’t have the time. Even if it took me 10 seconds to put together my outfit. What did I think of Fifty Shades of Grey? Read on as I tell you how I experienced this film and watching it with my best friend. And how I almost didn’t make it. Continue reading “Girls Day Out: Fifty Shades of Grey pt. 1”

Saturday Slow Jam: Everything about you

The slow jams of November were all about love songs for that special woman. Started the month with one of my favourite artists and ending it with my absolute favourite one when it comes to slow jams. How I remember the times when I used to listen to this song almost everyday. There is no video of this song, but there is no need, because it’s all about … Continue reading Saturday Slow Jam: Everything about you

All black everything as first Fall look 2014

Fall is here. Time to switch up the wardrobe again as I explained earlier in my Goodbye Summer post. For my first day out this season, I went for a simple one colour outfit. The colour which you can never go wrong with. Black. An all black everything outfit is always chic and flattering for your figure. It may not be the outfit combination for miss Anna Wintour, … Continue reading All black everything as first Fall look 2014

Denim and soft colours for Knokke, Belgium

Knokke outfit

Two weeks ago I went on a one day road trip to Knokke with a friend. As the summer was almost coming to an end and I haven’t been abroad since Jamaica, I was feeling spontaneous. So I called up my friend early in the morning to see if she would share my spontaneity and she did. There we were on our way with drinks and snacks for our almost 3 hour road trip with background music and an open rooftop. Halfway we made a pit stop and I had a cheat eat at McDonald’s of which I shared a photo on Instagram. We made it to Knokke around a few minutes past five in the afternoon. Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014

AFWA outfit

The first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam is a fact. Like you can read in my previous post “Africa Fashion Week is taking Amsterdam“, I attended the fashion shows, held in World Fashion Centre (WFC), to volunteer on day 1 and visited as press on day 2. From both days there are cover stories available in the posts about Preparation and Backstage, AFWA day 1 and AFWA day 2. While on day 1 I had my work outfit on, which was a simple black suit and a white blouse, on day 2 it was time to shine again.  Continue reading “Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014”

Banging outfits in Bang Bang music video

bang-bang-music-video 2

Sometimes you see music videos where you just go wow on the total look of the singers. The clothes, the shoes, the accessories. Just the outfits. The fashion! In the new video of Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj I thought just that. Wow! The printed skirt and leather bustier that complements Nicki’s curvacious figure, the dress with the slit on Jessie’s body, which suits her just perfect, the two piece pink and silver outfit of Ariana that makes her look sexy but classy. Happy Sunday everybody. Hopefully you guys enjoyed your weekend, cause I did, and I’ll tell you about this weekend soon. Today I would like to introduce you to a new series that I’m starting on the blog, which is called Travel Diary. In these diaries I will share photos of the cities and places I went recently or in the past (to give you a little throwback) since I like to travel, and give you an idea of places you can go also, if you know these places already you might discover new things to do on a next visit. Depending on how much you like the series, I will do this more often. Kicking it off with a place in Belgium called Lier, which I visited last month with family, as we went on an organised bus trip. Flashback Friday: Blue dress and a blonde weave

100_2104

Giving you a few snapshots of the look I had on a birthday six years ago. This photo was taken at a restaurant in one of my favourite places in the Netherlands, that gives me the ultimate holiday/ bday weekend feeling: Scheveningen. This is a place in The Hague with the most wonderful boulevard in all of Holland. We had dinner at Masada Grill and I had my favourite food: pasta!
