A date with myself: Fifty Shades Freed

There it was. The movie première every “Fifty Shades” fan was waiting for. On Wednesday 7 February 2018 the day was finally here. Chapter 3: Fifty Shades Freed was playing around the cinemas nationwide. Even though I really wanted to see the movie as one of the lucky firsts, I still waited one day longer, because I wanted to see it with a girlfriend who wasn’t able to make it on the 7th. Only positive vibes from 2017

20170101_223157

The first month of 2017 is a fact. It went by so fast, but I have to say my year started good. With a peaceful New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day at my place. Hopefully you guys had a lovely start of the new year too. As I had to take a much needed break at the end of 2016, I had time to think about several things in life. Besides that, I took the time to rest and kept the blogging on a minimum to really get myself together again. Continue reading “Only positive vibes from 2017”

From MIA to BIA: I am back in action

Hey you guys. Writing to you live from LA County. It’s been over 3 months since my last post on here. Why? Work, work, work, work. work, work (Rihanna voice). You guys know that I started a new career right before the summer and it took some getting used to with the rosters and balancing my work and private life. But so much has happened, including my birthday in … Continue reading From MIA to BIA: I am back in action

A moment of silence for my dad

20150820_205942

Today marks the six month anniversary of my father’s death on August 19. So sudden and unexpected was this tragic news I never thought I would get so early in life. Those of you who follow my blog or Instagram know that I received this terrible news while enjoying my last hour in Paris last Summer. A trip that I took to explore Paris some more on my own and to experience Paris without the judgement from others around me. Too bad it had to end like this. New year, new beginnings

Peaceful beach

Oh my, how time flies. These last couple of months have been nothing more than hard work for me. Just to keep my mind of the tragedy of losing my father. Ever since this tragic event, I have not written anything new from myself to you guys. Working was the thing to keep me from sitting around and being sad, that in this process I have spent most of my time doing things I didn’t really like. Eventually, all this hard work was sucking the energy out of my body. On top of that I found out that all this time I’ve spent working, has kept me from actually grieving and letting the loss sink in. There was never really a time for me. At this moment I realized that I had to stop doing this to myself, before my body was going to turn against me. Continue reading “New year, new beginnings”

It’s been a while..

Hello my dear readers and followers. Hopefully you all are doing fine. Me? Just taking things day by day. It’s been a little quiet here for some time hasn’t it? Yes, I know it’s been a while since I posted something on the blog. The truth is, I was just not up for it yet after everything that happened all these past weeks since I lost my father. Thought I was, but I was wrong. Continue reading “It’s been a while..”

From Paris to Paramaribo

Hello my dear readers, it has been a while since I posted something. The past few weeks have been so crazy you can’t imagine. Between all the hectic of the past Caribbean fashion show in Amsterdam and my work, I really needed a break. So, I decided to go solo to Paris, since I always wanted to explore Paris on my own. Those who follow me on Instagram, … Continue reading From Paris to Paramaribo

Girls Day Out: Fifty Shades of Grey pt. 1

Fifty Shades poster

Last Friday I went to see the film Fifty Shades of Grey in the cinema 1 day after the première. If you’ve read my post about me getting ready for this film, you know that I wrote it right before I actually left the house. Before I went off to get my Fifty Shades on, I felt the need to share it with you and told you that I have not read the book yet. What I also said is that I would at least read about the first encounter of Miss Steele and Mister Grey before seeing the movie (and let the rest of the story be a surprise). Well, I didn’t. Between proofreading my post and getting ready to leave, I didn’t have the time. Even if it took me 10 seconds to put together my outfit. What did I think of Fifty Shades of Grey? Read on as I tell you how I experienced this film and watching it with my best friend. And how I almost didn’t make it. Continue reading “Girls Day Out: Fifty Shades of Grey pt. 1”

And I must say I am one of the women who has counted the days ever since I’ve heard about the movie and the release date. Continue reading “Getting ready for Fifty Shades Of Grey”

The 14 reasons why 2014 was good for me

20141004_233050

While we are already two weeks into the year of 2015, I have to take a minute and be thankful for everything that happened to me in 2014. The year 2014 was a good year for me privately, socially and careerwise. Since a lot of bloggers are posting about the best of 2014, highlights of 2014 or the best outfits of 2014 and so on, I didn’t want to jump on that bandwagon, but still want to give you my version of a review of 2014. Back from Barcelona

20141008_100302

After a week in Barcelona, Spain, I am back home in the Netherlands and recharging from my vacation. Yesterday morning I arrived home and man I needed some rest. It was a fun week where I celebrated my 30th birthday, took part in the first fashion show of Caribbean Fashion Spot and even had a little get away to Lloret de Mar. What a week. Can’t believe it went by so fast. Like I said before, I wanted to take you on this trip with me, but sadly the wifi connection was so bad that every time I wanted to do a post it just didn’t happen, so sorry about that. Especially because I know that I said there would be a new post on the website everyday. Now I know that this is not always in my hands. And when I got home yesterday, I was too tired to post something. Continue reading “Back from Barcelona”
