Travel Vlogs: Get it to the Greek!

Last year Summer I’ve been to a few places for the first time. Greece was one of them. Although it wasn’t mainland Greece, I went to the island of Rhodes, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful ones, with a rich culture and history. It was a mini family vacation with my mother and sister, of which my mom and I were there for a few days longer. Of course I had to film some nice travel footage for my vlog viewers, which is now uploaded on my YouTube channel. Continue reading “Travel Vlogs: Get it to the Greek!”

Travel Vlogs: My solo trip to Mallorca

October is Vlogtober! That is what I told myself on the first day of this month, not knowing that vlogtober was already a trending hashtag on the gram. For me it doesn’t mean that I am going to vlog and upload a video everyday, but that I am going to pop my vlogs of the past year online one by one during this month. My goal is to upload everything before October ends.

Army look for Jamrock Festival

Last year summer the first edition of Jamrock Festival was held in Zaandam and as a diehard dancehall, reggae and soca music fan, I had to visit this long needed festival in The Netherlands. When it came to choosing the outfit for this event, immediately I opted for an army look. A look I still wanted to share on the blog, since I never got around to it. Continue reading “Army look for Jamrock Festival”

A stylish goodbye

This outfit post has been long overdue, since I wanted to share it with you years ago. Just couldn’t put myself up to it. On august 29, 2018 it was three years ago that I’d worn a certain outfit which I wanted to be perfect for that special occasion. It was the look for my father’s funeral. Because what do you were to say goodbye to your father? Continue reading “A stylish goodbye”

Favourite costumes from Black Panther movie

Today I would like to show you my favourite looks from the Black Panther movie. As you can read in my previous posts concerning Black Panther, one of my favourite things about this movie is the African inspired wardrobe. These costumes are the work of costume designer genius Ruth E. Carter, who had over a 100 people to help her realise the designs for the movie. Continue reading “Favourite costumes from Black Panther movie”

Black Panther outfits first and second time

In this post I am giving you a look at the outfits I wore to go see Black Panther the first time and the second time. After all the teasers, trailers and hype on social media about this movie, I had to go check it out for myself. Not only as a Marvel fan, but also, of course, as a woman of African descent. But what to wear? Continue reading “Black Panther outfits first and second time”

Symbolic African costumes designed for Black Panther

Costume designer Ruth E. Carter is the mastermind behind all the African costumes worn in the Marvel movie Black Panther. This genius designer was inspired by various African tribes and the symbolic triangle, as she explains it. “There is a huge misunderstanding about what Africa is”, she says. “Most people think it’s just one big thing”.  Continue reading “Symbolic African costumes designed for Black Panther”

Huishoudbeurs 2018: Pasar Colours Festival – Surinamese Day

Just like I mentioned in my previous post about the Huishoudbeurs, my third visit was all about the Pasar Colours Festival, because it was all about Surinamese entertainment that day. Unfortunately, I arrived later than planned, because I had to finnish the blogpost about the day before which took longer than I thought. But even though I missed half of the entertainment, I still had a great time at Pasar Colours Festival – Surinamese Day. Continue reading “Huishoudbeurs 2018: Pasar Colours Festival – Surinamese Day”

Huishoudbeurs 2018: Fashion & Beauty

My second visit to the Huishoudbeurs 2018 was yesterday on Wednesday, which was also the start of the Negen Maanden Beurs (Nine Months Fair), a fair that, as the name may suggest, that is all about baby stuff. Since this fair has nothing to do with my personal interests yet, it wasn’t the reason for me to go to Huishoudbeurs that day, but I did visit it for a second just to see what was going on there. My visit to the Huishoudbeurs that day was about checking out the Fashion & Beauty section. Continue reading “Huishoudbeurs 2018: Fashion & Beauty”
