#WBD: Flormar Bohemian Dream Collection

Bohemian-Dream-Collection 2015

My first encounter with Flormar was during my last visit to Barcelona, Spain. As I was walking by this colourful make-up store, I couldn’t help stepping inside. Right then and there I fell in love with the brand and became a member right after I bought some cute colours of nail polish. Ever since then I’ve been getting these newsletters from them, which I don’t understand one single word from, since they’re in Spanish. So If I want to know what they say, I have to Google translate. But sometimes I do get a video! Continue reading “#WBD: Flormar Bohemian Dream Collection”

That’s why today, I like to share a video with you by Neiman Marcus on how to tie your scarf like a stylist in many different … Continue reading Tie your scarf like a stylist with Neiman Marcus

Throwback Thursday: My army three-piece swimsuit

Before I share all  the posts about Barcelona and my birthday last month, I wanted to give you a throw back to six years ago in the summer time. It was the weekend of the annual reggae summer festival Reggae Sundance in Eersel, Netherlands. For that weekend I was staying with a small group at 4 star hotel NH Geldrop, not far from the festival. They have a wonderful pool and jacuzzi at this hotel and of course I had to take me a little dip in both. Continue reading “Throwback Thursday: My army three-piece swimsuit”

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

It’s official. The summer of 2014 is over. Done, past and gone. It;s time to slowly store away our summer wardrobe, the flip-flops, bikini’s, sun hats and sunscreens (unless you’re going to a tropical Island, Lucky you) and search for those knits and boots again. As sad as I am that my favourite season is over, just as happy I am that it’s now fall :). … Continue reading Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

Moschino brings you Barbie’s dream wardrobe

Barbie inspires Moschino

When it comes to Moschino fun, playful, provoking and unorthodox are words you can best use to describe the looks this Italian brand gives you. As the late designer Franco Moschino didn’t pay any mind to the fashion elite, the current designer Jeremy Scott, who made his debut at Moschino last season, is happy to continue this tradition. No one can do Kitsch better than Scott and with his Spring/ Summer 2015 designs he proves this again. Continue reading “Moschino brings you Barbie’s dream wardrobe”

Dope street style at Kwaku Summer Festival in Amsterdam

Kwaku Podium

Kwaku Summer Festival is an annual Surinamese themed summer festival that is being held in Amsterdam Southeast (The Bijlmer) for a few weekends, on Saturday on Sunday, in a row. This used to be six weekends, but this year the festival was open for five weekends. From July 12 – August 10, visitors of Kwaku were able to enjoy good music, entertainment, shopping at different booths and of course good Surinamese food, and lots of it. Typical Surinamese dishes, snacks, pastry, drinks (Parbo Bier) and desserts are yours for the choosing. And a lot of BBQ. If you want a taste of the Surinamese culture Kwaku is the place to be. At Kwaku you can experience a little bit of Suriname without actually taking that trip all the way to South America. Besides Surinamese food and other Caribbean food, there is also African food and Dutch food and since it’s summer time you can find fresh tropical fruits and fruit juices at several fruit booths. Happy Sunday everybody. Hopefully you guys enjoyed your weekend, cause I did, and I’ll tell you about this weekend soon. Today I would like to introduce you to a new series that I’m starting on the blog, which is called Travel Diary. In these diaries I will share photos of the cities and places I went recently or in the past (to give you a little throwback) since I like to travel, and give you an idea of places you can go also, if you know these places already you might discover new things to do on a next visit. Depending on how much you like the series, I will do this more often. Kicking it off with a place in Belgium called Lier, which I visited last month with family, as we went on an organised bus trip. Double slit maxi and representing at Summer Carnaval in Rotterdam

Maxi Su (1)

Good evening from my cosy couch. While I’m on the topic of events these past days, I wanted to share the look I was sporting at another event this summer. Only this time we’re taking it to Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam. Just like you might have seen I’m spending quite a lot of time in Amsterdam, visiting events and festivals, but not so much in Rotterdam. Well what can I say. I Love Amsterdam! But once a year I clear my schedule till early in the evening for my favorite event of the summer. The Summer Carnaval. As a Caribbean/ South American girl, music, dancing, parades and good food is in my blood. Like every year you could find me in Rotterdam for the Summer Carnaval, which was exactly a month ago today. Lets get wild at Keti Koti Festival with Sonia Noel

First Resort by Sonia Noel (7)

On July first the Surinamese people celebrate the abolition of Slavery in Suriname. This is a very big celebration in Suriname and a National Holiday. In the Netherlands there are also celebrations of this historic occurrence for all the Surinamese people who live here. Little history class: Suriname was a colony of the Netherlands and became independent on November 25, 1975. That day is our very own Independence Day, our 4th of July. But that’s a whole nother story. On July 1st we celebrate the emancipation of our black ancestors and our freedom. The biggest celebration is the Keti Koti Festival in Amsterdam at Oosterpark, a big park in Amsterdam East. On this day I couldn’t think of anything better to wear then a piece by one of my favorite Caribbean designers, a powerful black woman, the very talented miss Sonia Noel. Tips for packing effectively for your summer holiday

Departure (1)

This is a post I wanted to do for a long time, ever since I went to Jamaica last June. Because I had one suitcase and barely enough room in my carry on bag, I wanted to put all the space I had to good use. Past experiences thought me that I never wear all the clothing I take with me on holiday, sometimes not even all the shoes. The reason for this is because I just throw in clothing, shoes, and bags I think I might all wear during my holiday, but in the end I never do. And I know I am not the only one that had to deal with this issue. Continue reading “Tips for packing effectively for your summer holiday”
