My first encounter with Flormar was during my last visit to Barcelona, Spain. As I was walking by this colourful make-up store, I couldn’t help stepping inside. Right then and there I fell in love with the brand and became a member right after I bought some cute colours of nail polish. Ever since then I’ve been getting these newsletters from them, which I don’t understand one single word from, since they’re in Spanish. So If I want to know what they say, I have to Google translate. But sometimes I do get a video! Continue reading “#WBD: Flormar Bohemian Dream Collection”
While we are already two weeks into the year of 2015, I have to take a minute and be thankful for everything that happened to me in 2014. The year 2014 was a good year for me privately, socially and careerwise. Since a lot of bloggers are posting about the best of 2014, highlights of 2014 or the best outfits of 2014 and so on, I didn’t want to jump on that bandwagon, but still want to give you my version of a review of 2014. As you could read in my previous post about the first Caribbean Fashion Show by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I had my first catwalk experience. Next to my role as the catwalk coach for this show, I had to do a little appearance on the runway myself. In this post I would like to share this experience with you. Continue reading “My first catwalk experience”
The first Caribbean Fashion Show organised by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot is a fact. On Sunday October 12, a Caribbean fashion showcase was held in a beautiful venue near the Barceloneta beach called Shoko. As the PR Executive of Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I was very proud of our first fashion show, given the work of CEO and founder Dymuñeca. She picked the designers, put together a group of models – mostly of Caribbean descent -, put together the runway looks and produced the show. Chapeau! It was the first ever Caribbean fashion show in Europe. Continue reading “First ever Caribbean Fashion Show in Barcelona, Spain”
In this post I like to share some great shots I took while in Ciutadella Park and some more shots of myself while walking in the park. Parc de Ciutadella, as it is called in Spanish, is one of the biggest and must visit parks of Barcelona and I had a great time during my visit. When walking in this park I totally lost track of time while taking all the beauty in me and shooting some great photos. Continue reading “A walk in Ciutadella Park”
As you could read in my previous posts, I took a little trip to Barcelona last month to celebrate my birthday. It was nothing too fancy and I spend the day with a small group. Since I’ve been celebrating my birthday for years in the autumn time here in the cold, I couldn’t let the opportunity of going to the beach in October pass me by. So that’s where we headed after a nice lunch, I was wearing my new Denim & Co dress and sunglasses. How amazing it was to have a sunny birthday after all these years. True to myself, I had Italian for dinner at a nice restaurant called Little Italy. Pictures of my birthday can be found on my Instagram. Continue reading “Rocking I Love Su in Barcelona”
Just 4 weeks ago I was in Barcelona to celebrate my 30th birthday and do the first Caribbean fashion show for Dy Muñeca The Caribbean Fashion Spot. Now I’m back after 3 weeks, this time it was for the celebration of my sister’s birthday which was this past Friday. We went to Ibiza for her birthday and had us a sunny good ol’ time. The past weeks there wasn’t so much going on here on XX Fashion Diva as I had other things going on and took a little step back. But after this trip that is about to change. As you can see I still did my weekly posts on Monday and Saturday. Continue reading “Another Barcelona Trip”
The inspiration for this week comes from a cute sign spotted in Barcelona on my birthday. Of course a picture had to be taken of this inspiring message. If this wasn’t meant to be for the blog.. Read it and believe it. Message of the week: Have a nice week full of smiles! Continue reading Monday Inspiration: Remember you are loved
While walking through the streets of Barcelona looking for nice stores to shop and unique items, I spotted some cool food themed bags at a shop called Kling. There was the Pop Corn bag, the Butter Flavor Cookies bag, The Danish Butter Cookies bag and my favourite the French Fries bag, Mc Donald’s style. Unfortunately the sales woman wouldn’t let me take pictures in the store after asking, so I took some from the outside so you could still see the bag because I wanted to share it with you. Day 1 of Barcelona was a fun one since my two birthday guests arrived and I took them out to see the city a little bit. Of course I had to take them to La Rambla, the street to be when in Barcelona. When on La Rambla you have to visit La Boqueria as well, the market that always makes me so happy when I step … Continue reading Barcelona Trip Day 1
After a week in Barcelona, Spain, I am back home in the Netherlands and recharging from my vacation. Yesterday morning I arrived home and man I needed some rest. It was a fun week where I celebrated my 30th birthday, took part in the first fashion show of Caribbean Fashion Spot and even had a little get away to Lloret de Mar. What a week. Can’t believe it went by so fast. Like I said before, I wanted to take you on this trip with me, but sadly the wifi connection was so bad that every time I wanted to do a post it just didn’t happen, so sorry about that. Especially because I know that I said there would be a new post on the website everyday. Now I know that this is not always in my hands. And when I got home yesterday, I was too tired to post something. Continue reading “Back from Barcelona”
Today I’m celebrating my 30th birthday. With the strength of the Lord I am happy I made it to this day. We started this day celebrating my new years eve at a club in Barcelona and danced the night away. Right now I’m about to head to the beach and spend the rest of the afternoon there chilling and enjoying the cool ocean wind and … Continue reading It’s my 30th Birthday!
Hola from Barcelona. It is so good to be back here. Every time I’m in Barcelona I do feel like I’m on holiday for sure. The temperatures, the sun, the breeze, the palm trees, the whole enchilada. Barcelona, te quiero mucho. After a good night of sleep and a good lunch I was ready to take on Barcelona yesterday. Like I told you in my previous post I’m here to celebrate my birthday and, besides from my sister who lives in Barça and my mom who came with me, I invited two special guests with me to come join me for this long Birthday Weekend. City, Beach, Sun and Fun. That’s the theme of my party this year. Also I’m here for the first fashion show of Caribbean Fashion Spot that is going down on Sunday, October 12 in club Shoko. Good evening from Barcelona, Spain. Just got here today and looking forward to an exciting week. Those who are following me on Instagram and Twitter might already know that I came to Barcelona to celebrate my birthday. Next to that I am here for the first fashion show of Dy Muñeca Caribbean Fashion Spot. A post about this fashion show is on the XX Fashion Diva Facebook page.

The I love.. shirts are a fashion phenomenon and nowadays has become an integral part of casual street wear around the world. Most of you know the many I <3.. shirts of different cities like A’DAM, Berlin, London, Paris, Milan, Roma, Barcelona, Stockholm, NY, LA, Miami, Montreal, Tokyo and so on. In Suriname, where I’m from, there is the I Love SU fashion line and merchandise. While I’m not here to explain to you the history and demographics of Suriname, I can tell you that the population is not even close to one million citizens. Most people live in the capital city Paramaribo, and when there is talk about life in Suriname or going to Suriname it usually is about Paramaribo, but in general people speak of Su (short for Suriname). It is not like, for example, the United States or Spain (because of the big cities), that there is a I Love.. clothing line for almost every city. No, in small populated Suriname, like I said, they speak of Su. That is basically the history behind the choice of the name I Love SU.
