New year, new beginnings

Peaceful beach

Oh my, how time flies. These last couple of months have been nothing more than hardĀ work for me.Ā Just to keep my mind ofĀ the tragedy of losing my father. Ever since this tragic event, I have not writtenĀ anything new from myself to you guys.Ā Working was the thing to keep me from sitting around and being sad, that in this process I have spent most of my time doingĀ things I didn’t really like. Eventually, all this hard work was sucking the energy out of my body.Ā On top of that I found out that all this time I’veĀ spent working, hasĀ kept me from actually grieving and letting the loss sink in. There was never really a time for me. At this moment I realized that I had to stop doing this to myself, before my body was going to turn against me. Continue reading “New year, new beginnings”

From Paris to Paramaribo

Hello my dear readers, it has been a while since I posted something. The past few weeks have been so crazy you can’t imagine.Ā Between all the hectic of the past Caribbean fashion show in Amsterdam and my work, I really needed a break. So, I decided to go soloĀ to Paris,Ā since I always wanted to explore Paris on my own. Those who follow me on Instagram, … Continue reading From Paris to Paramaribo

Girls Day Out: Fifty Shades of Grey pt. 1

Fifty Shades poster

Last Friday I went to see the film Fifty Shades of Grey in the cinema 1 day after the premiĆØre. If you’ve read myĀ postĀ aboutĀ me getting ready for this film, you know that I wrote it right before I actually left the house.Ā Before I went off to get my Fifty Shades on, IĀ felt theĀ need to share it with you and told you that I have not read the book yet. What I also said isĀ that I would at least read about the first encounter of Miss Steele and Mister GreyĀ before seeing the movie (and let the rest of the story be a surprise). Well, I didn’t.Ā Between proofreading my post and getting ready to leave,Ā I didn’t have the time. Even if it took me 10 seconds to put together my outfit. What did I think of Fifty Shades of Grey? Read on as IĀ tell you how I experienced thisĀ film and watching it with my best friend. And how I almost didn’t make it. Continue reading “Girls Day Out: Fifty Shades of Grey pt. 1”

Saturday Slow Jam: Everything about you

The slow jams of November were all about love songs forĀ that special woman. StartedĀ the monthĀ with one of my favourite artists and ending it with my absolute favourite one when it comes to slow jams. How I remember the times when I used to listen to this song almost everyday. There is no video of this song, but there is no need, because it’s all about … Continue reading Saturday Slow Jam: Everything about you

Saturday Slow Jam: Put that woman first

Since I started this month with slow jamsĀ about love songs dedicated toĀ that special woman,Ā we’re going further down this road. Besides honesty and trust, the most important thing in a relationship for us women is attention.Ā We love it, we need it and we have to feel like we come first, especially afterĀ we get that love declaration.Ā Jaheim knows that this is true and tells you all about … Continue reading Saturday Slow Jam: Put that woman first

Saturday Slow Jam: All the things

When it comes to relationships, whatĀ woman doesn’t want to be treated like a queen and be loved the way she deserves to. Know your worth and make sure youĀ choose the one that is worthy ofĀ your love.Ā The Slow Jam of this week is all about that. Joe tells us the way it should be in his song All the things (your man won’t do).   Continue reading Saturday Slow Jam: All the things

Saturday Slow Jam: One Love

Sweet November is here. This month I want to start off the first Saturday Slow Jam with a love song that means something to me as it reminds me of that perfect love.
