AFWA wall

Just came back from AFWA and got on my laptop ASAP. In this quick plog I would like to give you a sneak peek at the pictures I took during the prep and backstage at Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam (AFWA 2014) today at the World Fashion Center (WFC) in Amsterdam. You’re going to see my snapshots of the set up, the catering, the fashion designers and the models talking things through, and the designers getting their models ready. Good evening y’all. And what a good evening it is indeed. Weekend is near and I am so thrilled about that since it’s going to be the weekend of the Africa Fashion Week in Amsterdam (AFWA 2014), which I will attend and am so excited about. Tomorrow I’m going to look for an outfit in the stores. But tonight I want to give you a quick throwback just as I did last week with a Flashback Friday post.

Dare to go bare: the reveal and the real

Bare Beauty 1

Last week I posted some pictures of me going natural with no make up on in a beauty post. With this post I was trying to inspire ladies to go au naturel and leave their make up in the make up bag for a change. To dare to go bare and be a bare beauty. But, actually no make up wasn’t entirely true. As you can clearly see on this photo above, I was wearing something. Can you guess what it is?? Travel Diary: An afternoon in Lier, Belgium

20140705_152220

Happy Sunday everybody. Hopefully you guys enjoyed your weekend, cause I did, and I’ll tell you about this weekend soon. Today I would like to introduce you to a new series that I’m starting on the blog, which is called Travel Diary. In these diaries I will share photos of the cities and places I went recently or in the past (to give you a little throwback) since I like to travel, and give you an idea of places you can go also, if you know these places already you might discover new things to do on a next visit. Depending on how much you like the series, I will do this more often. Kicking it off with a place in Belgium called Lier, which I visited last month with family, as we went on an organised bus trip. Know your size and choose wise

Many women don’t know what size to get when it comes to shopping for clothing, especially when it is an international brand to them with a different size label than what they’re used to. With the size chart this problem is over. If you know your international size, you can easily choose your UK size and vice versa. When in doubt just measure your bust, waist and … Continue reading Know your size and choose wise

Flashback Friday: Blue dress and a blonde weave

100_2104

Giving you a few snapshots of the look I had on a birthday six years ago. This photo was taken at a restaurant in one of my favourite places in the Netherlands, that gives me the ultimate holiday/ bday weekend feeling: Scheveningen. This is a place in The Hague with the most wonderful boulevard in all of Holland. We had dinner at Masada Grill and I had my favourite food: pasta! Plog: The Marc Jacobs Tweet shop in Amsterdam

MJDaisyChainAMS (12)

Good evening everyone this time from my lovely bed. Last week I told you that the Marc Jacobs Tweet shop would be at de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam for the promotion of the new women fragrance Daisy Dream. This was a four day promo from Thu. Aug 14 – Sun. Aug 17 where you had to tweet about the promo using the hashtag #MJDaisyChainAMS and would get a free Marc Jacobs sample, or item if you used a photo in your tweet. On Friday August 15 I visited the Tweet shop to check out this promo and get some goodies myself. Continue reading “Plog: The Marc Jacobs Tweet shop in Amsterdam”

Black with gold sparkles for Bo Monde

Bo Monde Juni 20141

Good evening everyone. Another night blogging from my couch after catching up on some fashion news and going through a few emails. In my post from yesterday I told you about the party with an elite touch to it, Bo Monde in Amsterdam. Today I like to share the look I was rocking that night. For this event there was a dress code of black, white, and gold. As usual you can imagine that not everybody followed this, but as the good girl I am, I did. It can be a challenge to find an outfit that suits the dress code just fine and I’m always up for a challenge. But in this case I didn’t have to think long and hard because I choose to wear an outfit I already worn before. Ooeh, talking about an outfit repeater. Tricky Tuesday: Troy the most handsome magician in town

Troy

This post might be different from what you guys are used to, but it will be the first one of my entertainment section. In this post I would like you to meet Troy. A young and very handsome magician from Southeast London who now has his own television show on the Discovery channel. It was about a month and a half ago that I came across his show while zapping on tv and his looks made me stop on the Discovery channel immediately. And what a discovery it was. Ladies, you’re gonna thank me for this one. The name Troy made me think of a series or something, but when I read in the info that he was a magician, I had to see the show. Sadly, I was on my way out and couldn’t watch it at that moment but I recorded it and finally had a look today. Together with my mom I watched the show and then went on YouTube on tv for some more. We experienced a very tricky Tuesday. Continue reading “Tricky Tuesday: Troy the most handsome magician in town”

Double slit maxi and representing at Summer Carnaval in Rotterdam

Maxi Su (1)

Good evening from my cosy couch. While I’m on the topic of events these past days, I wanted to share the look I was sporting at another event this summer. Only this time we’re taking it to Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam. Just like you might have seen I’m spending quite a lot of time in Amsterdam, visiting events and festivals, but not so much in Rotterdam. Well what can I say. I Love Amsterdam! But once a year I clear my schedule till early in the evening for my favorite event of the summer. The Summer Carnaval. As a Caribbean/ South American girl, music, dancing, parades and good food is in my blood. Like every year you could find me in Rotterdam for the Summer Carnaval, which was exactly a month ago today. Party Plog: Bo Monde, a party for beautiful people

Bo Monde Juni 2014

In my previous posts you’ve seen me at the Keti Koti Festival in Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Reggae Village. In this post we’re staying on the topic of great events in Amsterdam. While you’ve seen me in my Reggae outfit at the reggae festival, I was sporting a more chique look at a party the night before: Bo Monde. This is a party you can attend by invitation only with an elite touch to it, which I came across on Facebook before its second edition. Since I’d missed the chance of being at the second edition due to a rather late request ( I imagine), I wanted to be there for the third edition. This time I got myself invited.
