10 days before triple 10

Keep Calm and Be Thirty

Like every year, I am counting down for my birthday, which is now 10 days away today. The countdown helps me to get used to the idea that I will be one year older and I also do it because I am excited to celebrate a birthday again. As you can read in my ’30 before 30 years’ post it is the year of the triple 10 and I am looking forward to that. Counting down helps me ease in this idea and I for one am ready. Are there any ladies out there who are about to join the Thirty Flirty Club (TFC)? Continue reading “10 days before triple 10”

Monday Inspiration: Don’t worry about others

Many people like to look at what other people are doing instead of looking at themselves. Looking and worry about others is a distraction from doing what you want to and therefore should do. Especially when you want to start something for yourself it can bring up unnecessary insecurities. The quote for this week is one that we all know and use, but still is … Continue reading Monday Inspiration: Don’t worry about others

All black everything as first Fall look 2014

Fall is here. Time to switch up the wardrobe again as I explained earlier in my Goodbye Summer post. For my first day out this season, I went for a simple one colour outfit. The colour which you can never go wrong with. Black. An all black everything outfit is always chic and flattering for your figure. It may not be the outfit combination for miss Anna Wintour, … Continue reading All black everything as first Fall look 2014

Spotted at H&M: The Red Lips Bag

Red Lips Bag (1)

On Wednesday this week I went to the city for the first time this fall. Curious to see what trends are in store right now and what beauty products are a must have, I visited a few stores and H&M was one of them. Of course how can I resist the H&M when it comes to fall fashion right. The first thing that captured my attention when walking into the store was this cute little red lips bag with a long strap that I just had to share with you. Throwback Thursday: A closer look at Vogue USA

Vogue is known as the fashion bible for all the fashionistas in the world. The most wanted and talked about one is the Vogue USA of which miss Anna Wintour is in charge. In 1988 Anna took over the role of editor in chief at Vogue in the USA after having that role for the UK version of the magazine. Anna has since then took Vogue to a whole ‘nother level … Continue reading Throwback Thursday: A closer look at Vogue USA

Denim and soft colours for Knokke, Belgium

Knokke outfit

Two weeks ago I went on a one day road trip to Knokke with a friend. As the summer was almost coming to an end and I haven’t been abroad since Jamaica, I was feeling spontaneous. So I called up my friend early in the morning to see if she would share my spontaneity and she did. There we were on our way with drinks and snacks for our almost 3 hour road trip with background music and an open rooftop. Halfway we made a pit stop and I had a cheat eat at McDonald’s of which I shared a photo on Instagram. We made it to Knokke around a few minutes past five in the afternoon. 73 things to know about Anna Wintour

She  is considered the most powerful woman in fashion and has been the editor of Vogue USA for the last 26 years. Anna Wintour knows fashion and she certainly knows how to get people’s reaction to it. During this interview we find out a few things about Anna that may be surprising. For instance she would never wear all black everything and would love to take on basketball. And can you believe she has never taken a selfie? I know. Hooray for Italian Tuesday

At the beginning of this year I started a food tradition of my own, that every Tuesday I’d eat Italian food and call it Italian Tuesdays. This all started when I was in Suriname this january and ordered pasta with tomato sauce on a Tuesday at my favourite terrace in Paramaribo City, ‘t Vat. An absolute must-visit when you’re in Suriname. The next week I found myself eating … Continue reading Hooray for Italian Tuesday

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

It’s official. The summer of 2014 is over. Done, past and gone. It;s time to slowly store away our summer wardrobe, the flip-flops, bikini’s, sun hats and sunscreens (unless you’re going to a tropical Island, Lucky you) and search for those knits and boots again. As sad as I am that my favourite season is over, just as happy I am that it’s now fall :). … Continue reading Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

Moschino brings you Barbie’s dream wardrobe

Barbie inspires Moschino

When it comes to Moschino fun, playful, provoking and unorthodox are words you can best use to describe the looks this Italian brand gives you. As the late designer Franco Moschino didn’t pay any mind to the fashion elite, the current designer Jeremy Scott, who made his debut at Moschino last season, is happy to continue this tradition. No one can do Kitsch better than Scott and with his Spring/ Summer 2015 designs he proves this again. Continue reading “Moschino brings you Barbie’s dream wardrobe”

Fashionistas at AFWA 2014

AFWA Fashionistas

Where there’s fashion week, there are the fashionistas. All dressed up and ready to go. At the first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam, held last month at the World Fashion Centre (WFC), it was not any different. Since it was all about African fashion you can imagine that most of these fashionistas pulled out their African ensembles to show off at the event and pose in front of the wall of fame. Of course I couldn’t resist getting these fabulous African inspired outfits on camera and took some snap shots of my favourite ones spotted on day 1 and day to of AFWA 2014. Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014

AFWA outfit

The first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam is a fact. Like you can read in my previous post “Africa Fashion Week is taking Amsterdam“, I attended the fashion shows, held in World Fashion Centre (WFC), to volunteer on day 1 and visited as press on day 2. From both days there are cover stories available in the posts about Preparation and Backstage, AFWA day 1 and AFWA day 2. While on day 1 I had my work outfit on, which was a simple black suit and a white blouse, on day 2 it was time to shine again.  Continue reading “Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014”
