Hooray! SPRING IS HERE! The long awaited season that will start the countdown to Summer. Well, now that the winter days are gone, it’s time to seriously start to work on that body again. Most of us have that resolution starting the new year, but after the first weeks we get back into routine and gone are all the things we were set to do. Continue reading “Spring Time! Minding my body”
Many of you who follow my blog may know that I was in Suriname last year in August/ September. While walking in the city of Paramaribo one day, I got a message from a friend there who told me that there was a grand opening of Flormar in downtown Paramaribo. What? Flormar in Paramaribo? Got to see that. So, I took a taxi with the ladies I was with that day and went to check it out. Today I finally got around to share this with you. Continue reading “Flashback report: First Flormar Professional Make-Up store in Paramaribo”
It’s been over a year since my first Travel Diary post. Here I am again with another one. Just like I promised in my last I Love Su outfit post, I want to share my photos of my first Ibiza trip back in November 2014 with you guys. We went there to celebrate the birthday of my sister and spent two days on this lovely island, known as a party island in the summertime. Being there in the fall season was perfect to me for a first time visit, because I really got to discover the island peacefully. Off season with no trailer load of tourists, just sunshine, a beautiful Mediterranean landscape and friendly locals. Continue reading “Travel Diary: Ibiza in style day 1”
When it comes to accessories the scarf is by far one of my favorites. It’s almost like I’m obsessed with buying and collecting scarves. Even when I’m outside, I find myself staring at other people’s scarves wondering where they got it from. Today I like to show you how I used one of my favorite scarves as the main accessory in two different ways last fall/ winter season. The casual way wearing jeans and the fancy way wearing a dress. Continue reading “Casual or fancy wearing the same scarf”
What can one do to give an outfit two different looks when going outside the door? That’s simple, just change a jacket for a coat. These two looks I shot last fall/winter season, but I haven’t got around to share it back then, so I thought why not now. It’s the winter season again and these looks are still very much up to date and I guess they will be years from now. Mainly because of two reasons: the faux leather jacket and the trench coat. Throw these on a classic denim and a sweater outfit and you have two looks that will never go out of style. Continue reading “Same outfit, two looks”
Fall is here. Time to switch up the wardrobe again as I explained earlier in my Goodbye Summer post. For my first day out this season, I went for a simple one colour outfit. The colour which you can never go wrong with. Black. An all black everything outfit is always chic and flattering for your figure. It may not be the outfit combination for miss Anna Wintour, … Continue reading All black everything as first Fall look 2014
On Wednesday this week I went to the city for the first time this fall. Curious to see what trends are in store right now and what beauty products are a must have, I visited a few stores and H&M was one of them. Of course how can I resist the H&M when it comes to fall fashion right. The first thing that captured my attention when walking into the store was this cute little red lips bag with a long strap that I just had to share with you. The first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam is a fact. Like you can read in my previous post “Africa Fashion Week is taking Amsterdam“, I attended the fashion shows, held in World Fashion Centre (WFC), to volunteer on day 1 and visited as press on day 2. From both days there are cover stories available in the posts about Preparation and Backstage, AFWA day 1 and AFWA day 2. While on day 1 I had my work outfit on, which was a simple black suit and a white blouse, on day 2 it was time to shine again. Continue reading “Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014”
While sitting here ending this weekend with a cold cosmopolitan, I wanted to tell you about how I spent the first day of summer 2014. Like I told you in my previous post Happy first day of summer, I always wear a new summer dress on june 21 to celebrate the kick off of the summer season, I also added a picture of the dress. And when I wear a new dress I want to go somewhere special or do something special. After being at home most of the day, watching a few episodes of the series Awkward on MTV and working on my laptop, I wanted to take it outside to celebrate summer and wear my new dress. So I did. Continue reading “How I celebrated the first day of summer”
What is the first thing you want to do when you’re on an island? Well…? Yes, that’s right. Going to the beach and enjoying the view, the white sand, the blue water, the clear blue sky and of course the sun. So that’s the first thing we tried to do on our first whole day on the Island of Jamaica. I say tried because that is exactly what we did. Continue reading “Breaking in my Versace leggings in Jamaica”
Last year on this date, April 30, it was the last Queensday in the Netherlands. On this day, April 30 2013, the crown prince Willem Alexander was crowned King of the Netherlands, meaning the national holiday Queensday is now Kingsday. The difference is that the date April 30 we were all used to for decades is now changed to April 26. This is because April 30 was the birthday of the late former Queen Juliana, and also the date her daughter, crown princess Beatrix at that time and now former Queen Beatrix, was crowned Queen of the Netherlands. Queen Beatrix kept the tradition of the national holiday Queensday on April 30. But since King Willem Alexander is crowned, this holiday is changed to April 26, given the fact that this is his birthday, even if he was crowned on April 30 also. So last Saturday April 26 we had our first Kingsday. Continue reading “Open Air Boutique on Kingsday”
Every year I look at the weather on April 25th to see what it’s like, what it feels like and if it stays the same during the day. Why? Because of something the character Cheryl Frasier, played by Heather Burns, said in Miss Congeniality when during the Miss United States pageant she was asked to describe her favorite date. “April 25th. Because it’s not too hot and it’s not too cold. All you need is a light jacket”, was her answer. True that, because every year on april 25th the weather is like that. Really all you need is a light jacket.

Today I would like to give you a sneak peek at some personal photo’s of myself in a flashback from 2011 in Barcelona. See my favorite black shiny jacket that I’ve lost last year summertime, in a 4 star hotel in Amsterdam and never found back. The very next day that I left it in the restaurant by accident I called and it was gone. Shame! But luckily I will always have these pictures. Continue reading “Flashback Friday: Barcelona 2011”
One of my favorite places to shop for clothes is H&M, online as well as in the stores. Every year H&M launches campaigns where they pick out a celebrity or supermodel who is the face of their campaign. For the Spring 2014 campaign it’s none other than Miranda Kerr, supermodel and ex Victoria’s Secret model, who is set to be their newest face. The almost 31-year-old and very sexy Australian is looking good in the spring collection of H&M, and is rocking it so well that it makes you wanna buy or order the items right away. Here is a look at the official Commercial Campaign.
