Spring Time! Minding my body

Hooray! SPRING IS HERE! The long awaited season that will start the countdown to Summer. Well, now that the winter days are gone, it’s time to seriously start to work on that body again. Most of us have that resolution starting the new year, but after the first weeks we get back into routine and gone are all the things we were set to do. Continue reading “Spring Time! Working that athleisure in the city

While I’m known to be a dressy girl whenever I hit the streets, I do like to be comfy if I have to run a few errands. That’s exactly what I did last Monday in my hometown. Because I initially planned to cycle to the city, so I could also get my exercise for that day, I wanted to wear something that was both suited for this activity and walking down the streets. Continue reading “Working that athleisure in the city”
Sunday breakfast indulgence with homemade pancakes

Sunday treat, Sunday cheat, sinner Sunday.. Call it whatever you want, but we all like to treat ourselves a little on Sundays. For me it’s an easy day that I like to start with a little indulgence. This means that I’m talking about one thing only: food! There’s nothing like starting my Sunday with a yummy breakfast to wake up my taste buds. It’s okay to enjoy your food without constantly over thinking it. Trust me. Continue reading “Sunday breakfast indulgence with homemade pancakes”
Saturday Slow Jam: Almost
This week I’m taking it back with an oldie by one of my favourite female R&B singers in the early 2000’s. Haven’t heard anything from her lately but her songs are still timeless slow jam classics. Continue reading “Saturday Slow Jam: Almost”

My Revenant outfit

By now the whole world knows that Leonardo DiCaprio won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant. Yeah! Since I didn’t see the movie before the awards ceremony, I celebrated this fact by going to the movie the next day with a friend. Ergo, on Leap Day of 2016 I went to see The Revenant. Continue reading “My Revenant outfit”
Blogiversary 2: XX Fashion Diva two year anniversary

Yesterday was exactly two years ago since the first blog post was up on XX Fashion Diva. As I didn’t took a minute to address that yesterday, I’m celebrating that fact today. Colourful winter style

Today I want to show you a weekend look that I created two weeks ago for a day out in Amsterdam. It was a casual date with a friend where we went downtown and did the dinner and a movie thing. We went to see How to be single and I wanted to style myself into a fun outfit that was suited for such a day out. Continue reading “Colourful winter style”
Rochelle took it to Paramaribo for latest music video
Rochelle who? If you’re into that dance music scene you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about. You know, that bad ass looking girl who was running the charts with Yellow Claw back in 2013/2014 with that dope single Shotgun. Yeah, it now rings a bell doesn’t it? Thought so. When I heard the name I had to stop and think for a second myself and then I recalled. Continue reading “Rochelle took it to Paramaribo for latest music video”
Saturday Slow Jam: If I don’t have you
The slow jam of today comes from one of my favourite ladies of R&B and Soul music. Her voice and her style are everything. Just heard this song and I liked it right away. Really digging the burlesque style in this video. Got a soft spot for that French fashion you know. Continue reading “Saturday Slow Jam: If I don’t have you”
House party chic

Hey guys, it’s time for a fashionable flashback on this Friday. The look I’m showing you today was put together for a house party in the Spring of last year. It was a 30th birthday bash with a buffet, an in-house bar and a dj, so I felt like dressing up for this occasion but keeping it simple at the same time. Continue reading “House party chic”
Flashback report: First Flormar Professional Make-Up store in Paramaribo

Many of you who follow my blog may know that I was in Suriname last year in August/ September. While walking in the city of Paramaribo one day, I got a message from a friend there who told me that there was a grand opening of Flormar in downtown Paramaribo. What? Flormar in Paramaribo? Got to see that. So, I took a taxi with the ladies I was with that day and went to check it out. Today I finally got around to share this with you. Continue reading “Flashback report: First Flormar Professional Make-Up store in Paramaribo”
#WBD: Getting the L’Oréal steampod treatment

Lately you guys have seen my rocking it straight on my instagram and here on the blog. You know what I’m talking about. About two and a half weeks ago I felt like changing up my hairdo for the last winter weeks, so I decided to trade in my natural curls for straight hair. Keeping my curls in place is a task that takes time and I didn’t feel like doing that these days. It was time for something easier that involves less time styling my hair. Straightening it.
