Travel Diary: Ibiza in style day 1

20141107_080446

It’s been over a year since my first Travel Diary post. Here I am again with another one. Just like I promised in my last I Love Su outfit post, I want to share my photos of my first Ibiza trip back in November 2014 with you guys. We went there to celebrate the birthday of my sister and spent two days on this lovely island, known as a party island in the summertime. Being there in the fall season was perfect to me for a first time visit, because I really got to discover the island peacefully. Off season with no trailer load of tourists, just sunshine, a beautiful Mediterranean landscape and friendly locals. Continue reading “Travel Diary: Ibiza in style day 1”

MBFWA Outfit Day 2: Snow-White and Navy Blue

Outfit Day 2 collage

For day two of MBFWA I wanted to wear something much more different from day 1 and went with a complete opposite look. This day I wanted to keep it sweet and girly and choose to wear a dress instead of pants. As I was also visiting the Zalando 10 Days Downtown Event called ‘Fashion & Ballet’ at the Koepelkerk, Renaissance Hotel, I picked out a dress that to me matched the feeling of ballet. Since it had snowed that day, I also kinda wanted to blend in with the white color on the streets. So I ended up wearing my snow-white flared skirt dress. Denim and soft colours for Knokke, Belgium

Knokke outfit

Two weeks ago I went on a one day road trip to Knokke with a friend. As the summer was almost coming to an end and I haven’t been abroad since Jamaica, I was feeling spontaneous. So I called up my friend early in the morning to see if she would share my spontaneity and she did. There we were on our way with drinks and snacks for our almost 3 hour road trip with background music and an open rooftop. Halfway we made a pit stop and I had a cheat eat at McDonald’s of which I shared a photo on Instagram. We made it to Knokke around a few minutes past five in the afternoon. Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014

AFWA outfit

The first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam is a fact. Like you can read in my previous post “Africa Fashion Week is taking Amsterdam“, I attended the fashion shows, held in World Fashion Centre (WFC), to volunteer on day 1 and visited as press on day 2. From both days there are cover stories available in the posts about Preparation and Backstage, AFWA day 1 and AFWA day 2. While on day 1 I had my work outfit on, which was a simple black suit and a white blouse, on day 2 it was time to shine again.  Continue reading “Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014”

Black with gold sparkles for Bo Monde

Bo Monde Juni 20141

Good evening everyone. Another night blogging from my couch after catching up on some fashion news and going through a few emails. In my post from yesterday I told you about the party with an elite touch to it, Bo Monde in Amsterdam. Today I like to share the look I was rocking that night. For this event there was a dress code of black, white, and gold. As usual you can imagine that not everybody followed this, but as the good girl I am, I did. It can be a challenge to find an outfit that suits the dress code just fine and I’m always up for a challenge. But in this case I didn’t have to think long and hard because I choose to wear an outfit I already worn before. Ooeh, talking about an outfit repeater. Lets get wild at Keti Koti Festival with Sonia Noel

First Resort by Sonia Noel (7)

On July first the Surinamese people celebrate the abolition of Slavery in Suriname. This is a very big celebration in Suriname and a National Holiday. In the Netherlands there are also celebrations of this historic occurrence for all the Surinamese people who live here. Little history class: Suriname was a colony of the Netherlands and became independent on November 25, 1975. That day is our very own Independence Day, our 4th of July. But that’s a whole nother story. On July 1st we celebrate the emancipation of our black ancestors and our freedom. The biggest celebration is the Keti Koti Festival in Amsterdam at Oosterpark, a big park in Amsterdam East. On this day I couldn’t think of anything better to wear then a piece by one of my favorite Caribbean designers, a powerful black woman, the very talented miss Sonia Noel. But first let me take a selfie

IMG-20140124-00912

A bunch of crazy silly selfies, made in Suriname this year in January. It was my first real night of clubbing! I needed a nice dress to go with my curlies and pink lipstick. That same day I went shopping at Maretraite Mall and came back home with a peplum one I got at Dojo Couture. It was my first, and yet only, peplum dress.
