My American style winter boots

American winter boots (1)

Winter is officially here. December 21, the shortest day of the year and I must say that it is true. This morning I waited to see what time the sun would rise or better said what time it would be daylight, because there was actually no sign of the sun today. Nothing, nada. At least not here in my city. About 9:15 it was daylight and about 15:45 it was already time for sunset. Really the shortest day, but still enjoyable. In the afternoon I went to the city center because I heard of a final sale at a shoe store with great quality shoes. Continue reading “My American style winter boots”

Spotted at River Island: The chunky boots

20141002_170848

This season chunky boots are making a comeback. Everywhere you look these shoes are present. Last week, while looking for a birthday dress in downtown Amsterdam, I came across some very cool ones at River Island. You can get them in different colours but mostly in black, with or without cutouts, or straps. The chunky boots are very trending right now and the perfect pair of shoes for fall/winter. For sure I’m going to get myself a pair. Continue reading “Spotted at River Island: The chunky boots”

Denim and soft colours for Knokke, Belgium

Knokke outfit

Two weeks ago I went on a one day road trip to Knokke with a friend. As the summer was almost coming to an end and I haven’t been abroad since Jamaica, I was feeling spontaneous. So I called up my friend early in the morning to see if she would share my spontaneity and she did. There we were on our way with drinks and snacks for our almost 3 hour road trip with background music and an open rooftop. Halfway we made a pit stop and I had a cheat eat at McDonald’s of which I shared a photo on Instagram. We made it to Knokke around a few minutes past five in the afternoon. 20140705_152220

Happy Sunday everybody. Hopefully you guys enjoyed your weekend, cause I did, and I’ll tell you about this weekend soon. Today I would like to introduce you to a new series that I’m starting on the blog, which is called Travel Diary. In these diaries I will share photos of the cities and places I went recently or in the past (to give you a little throwback) since I like to travel, and give you an idea of places you can go also, if you know these places already you might discover new things to do on a next visit. Depending on how much you like the series, I will do this more often. Kicking it off with a place in Belgium called Lier, which I visited last month with family, as we went on an organised bus trip. Know your size and choose wise

Many women don’t know what size to get when it comes to shopping for clothing, especially when it is an international brand to them with a different size label than what they’re used to. With the size chart this problem is over. If you know your international size, you can easily choose your UK size and vice versa. When in doubt just measure your bust, waist and … Continue reading Know your size and choose wise

Happy news about Zalando and Topshop

This monday I got to read some great news on one of my favorite and trustworthy fashion websites Fashionunited that made me want to share it with you. Some of you may and some of you may not know that Zalando, one of Europe’s biggest e-commerce companies founded in Germany, is going to work together with Topshop. Woohoow! As from this fall Zalando will sell the collection of Topshop and Topman on the webshop in European countries, of which we’re talking clothing, shoes and accessories. But first let me take a selfie

IMG-20140124-00912

A bunch of crazy silly selfies, made in Suriname this year in January. It was my first real night of clubbing! I needed a nice dress to go with my curlies and pink lipstick. That same day I went shopping at Maretraite Mall and came back home with a peplum one I got at Dojo Couture. It was my first, and yet only, peplum dress. Flashback Friday: Barcelona 2011

Flashback Barcelona waterfall

Today I would like to give you a sneak peek at some personal photo’s of myself in a flashback from 2011 in Barcelona. See my favorite black shiny jacket that I’ve lost last year summertime, in a 4 star hotel in Amsterdam and never found back. The very next day that I left it in the restaurant by accident I called and it was gone. Shame! But luckily I will always have these pictures. Continue reading “Flashback Friday: Barcelona 2011”

What Not To Wear: The timeless fashion series

One of my favorite fashion series on television is What Not To Wear. In this show stylists Stacy London and Clinton Kelly give women, whose style is just a big no-no, a fashion make over. These women are nominated by their friends and family to be on the show because they think that help is much needed. If these women agree to play by the rules of Stacy and Clinton they get a credit card worth of 5000 dollars to get a whole new wardrobe by shopping in New York. Not only do they get to buy a whole new wardrobe, they also get a new hair style from hair stylist Ted Gibson, and a whole new look from make up artist Carmindy.

My first Topshop visit and purchase

Topshop logoTopshop logoTopshop logo

This week I wrote about my Topshop discovery in Amsterdam and that it’s located as a shop in shop in the very chique department store de Bijenkorf. As it happened I wanted to pay a visit to de Bijenkorf for a long time now, because I had a gift card, and also wanted to visit Topshop. This way I could visit them both at once! Also this week from 2 – 6 april it’s the “Maffe Marathon” at de Bijenkorf, which literally means “Crazy Marathon”, with 5 days of discounts and special offers. So thursday I went to de Bijenkorf and finally visited Topshop. Continue reading “My first Topshop visit and purchase”

My first experiences with Primark

Primark Oxford St East

My first visit to a Primark store was in june 2011, in the city Hoofddorp, Netherlands. I’ve heard about this store where you can buy great fashion for very low prices. But back then Primark wasn’t in my city yet. The day I visited Primark was actually a day that I had a promotion gig for Lipton Ice Tea in the centre of Hoofddorp. Every once in a while a do these projects for A class brands. So that day after work was done my colleagues decided to go shopping at Primark and, since I’ve never been and was curious about it, I decided to join them. Cleaning out the closet part one

IMG-20140324-03409

Spring time is almost here. You know what that means to most of us. Spring cleaning! And to me a big part of spring cleaning means: cleaning out the closet. Every year I have a period where I go through my closet and give away clothing, but also shoes and bags that I don’t want anymore for several reasons. It could be because I don’t like them anymore, the colors faded, I’ve outgrown them in the sense of maturing, or it’s just out of style. Not that I care too much about what’s in style, but sometimes you gotta admit when something is just not done anymore. Continue reading “Cleaning out the closet part one”
