The Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica was the first international Fashion Week I’ve been to and therefore it’s definitely going in my Fashion History Book. It was a pleasure and honor to be there as one of the media to capture this event from the frontline for Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot. Like I told you before in this post about CFW, I was there as a part of the Caribbean Fashion Spot. That’s why I talk about “we” in my Jamaica posts. My biggest role at the Caribbean Fashion Week shows was that of photographer. In this post I will share my experience of being photographer, visitor and fashionista at the same time. Continue reading “How I experienced the CFW 2014 fashion shows in Kingston”
While sitting here ending this weekend with a cold cosmopolitan, I wanted to tell you about how I spent the first day of summer 2014. Like I told you in my previous post Happy first day of summer, I always wear a new summer dress on june 21 to celebrate the kick off of the summer season, I also added a picture of the dress. And when I wear a new dress I want to go somewhere special or do something special. After being at home most of the day, watching a few episodes of the series Awkward on MTV and working on my laptop, I wanted to take it outside to celebrate summer and wear my new dress. So I did. Continue reading “How I celebrated the first day of summer”
Yes! It’s Summertime, my favorite season of the year. Sunshine, colorful dresses, bright nail polish, skirts, shorts, tank tops, flip-flops, sandals and shades. Just a few of my favorite items to wear during summertime. Every year I wear a new summer dress on the 21 of June to celebrate the official kick off the Summer Season. This year is no different. Today I am so happy to announce that I will be in Jamaica tomorrow for fashion business, as a part of Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot. We were invited to attend CFW 2014, the 14th edition of Caribbean Fashion Week, scheduled for June 11-16 in Kingston, Jamaica. So excited!!! Of all the islands I ever wanted to visit, Jamaica was always the first one I wanted to go to. Since I’ve never been on an island before, I call this faith! Continue reading “Coming to Jamaica”
Taking pictures in the fitting room is a good way to see how clothes (dresses) look on you: front, side and back. Loved this dress mainly because of the print, but in the end I didn’t get it. But I will always have this photo. Continue reading Just a photo up
Today I would like to share with you my Fashion Diva mood board. This mood board describes me and my fashion taste the best way. I like color and nice things. I love shopping! When it comes to fashion I like it classy, chique, sophisticated and sometimes casual. What else can you tell about me by looking at this? I wonder… Continue reading My Fashion Diva mood board
A bunch of crazy silly selfies, made in Suriname this year in January. It was my first real night of clubbing! I needed a nice dress to go with my curlies and pink lipstick. That same day I went shopping at Maretraite Mall and came back home with a peplum one I got at Dojo Couture. It was my first, and yet only, peplum dress. Continue reading “But first let me take a selfie”
Last year on this date, April 30, it was the last Queensday in the Netherlands. On this day, April 30 2013, the crown prince Willem Alexander was crowned King of the Netherlands, meaning the national holiday Queensday is now Kingsday. The difference is that the date April 30 we were all used to for decades is now changed to April 26. This is because April 30 was the birthday of the late former Queen Juliana, and also the date her daughter, crown princess Beatrix at that time and now former Queen Beatrix, was crowned Queen of the Netherlands. Queen Beatrix kept the tradition of the national holiday Queensday on April 30. But since King Willem Alexander is crowned, this holiday is changed to April 26, given the fact that this is his birthday, even if he was crowned on April 30 also. So last Saturday April 26 we had our first Kingsday. Continue reading “Open Air Boutique on Kingsday”
Every year I look at the weather on April 25th to see what it’s like, what it feels like and if it stays the same during the day. Why? Because of something the character Cheryl Frasier, played by Heather Burns, said in Miss Congeniality when during the Miss United States pageant she was asked to describe her favorite date. “April 25th. Because it’s not too hot and it’s not too cold. All you need is a light jacket”, was her answer. True that, because every year on april 25th the weather is like that. Really all you need is a light jacket.

After two and a half months I finally got me a pedicure again. I know, that is a long time. Wearing high heels all the time can make your feet become hard underneath, and after all this time you can imagine the amount of callous I had on my heels too. Because I don’t have the right tools to remove all of this I decided to go to Coco Nails & Spa in Almere and get a pedicure there. In this plog I will show you the step by step action of my pedicure so that you can see that it is easy to do if you have the right tools at home. Or otherwise you can see what to expect when you go get a pedicure and gel nail polish after.
This week I wrote about my Topshop discovery in Amsterdam and that it’s located as a shop in shop in the very chique department store de Bijenkorf. As it happened I wanted to pay a visit to de Bijenkorf for a long time now, because I had a gift card, and also wanted to visit Topshop. This way I could visit them both at once! Also this week from 2 – 6 april it’s the “Maffe Marathon” at de Bijenkorf, which literally means “Crazy Marathon”, with 5 days of discounts and special offers. So thursday I went to de Bijenkorf and finally visited Topshop. Continue reading “My first Topshop visit and purchase”
Two weeks ago I found my renewed love for Primark and went for a little shopping at Primark Almere that weekend. Like I promised in my post “My renewed love for Primark” I would do a haul of the things I purchased. Today I finally took the pictures of everything I got the day I found my love for Primark again. In my firts haul I give you my first big Primark purchase.

I’ve heard about Topshop via internet and was a little bummed that it isn’t in the Netherlands. So I thought. Oh, well when I’m in the UK or USA I will visit this store because they have great fashion pieces. I like it, I wanna see more. Men, why isn’t this shop here? Bummer! All this was going through my mind when I saw their fashion for the first time. Just two days ago I found out that Topshop is also in the Netherlands. That is the moment when I googled Topshop and read that there is a store in the Netherlands indeed. Continue reading “My Topshop discovery”
Last week I talked about cleaning out the closet for Spring season. Well, I have to say that I didn’t get as far as I planned to at the beginning. I did manage to rearrange the extra clothing racks that I have besides my closet, to hang my dresses, blouses and blazers. And my shoe rack.
