Hello my dear readers, it has been a while since I posted something. The past few weeks have been so crazy you can’t imagine. Between all the hectic of the past Caribbean fashion show in Amsterdam and my work, I really needed a break. So, I decided to go solo to Paris, since I always wanted to explore Paris on my own. Those who follow me on Instagram, … Continue reading From Paris to Paramaribo
Last Friday I went to see the film Fifty Shades of Grey in the cinema 1 day after the première. If you’ve read my post about me getting ready for this film, you know that I wrote it right before I actually left the house. Before I went off to get my Fifty Shades on, I felt the need to share it with you and told you that I have not read the book yet. What I also said is that I would at least read about the first encounter of Miss Steele and Mister Grey before seeing the movie (and let the rest of the story be a surprise). Well, I didn’t. Between proofreading my post and getting ready to leave, I didn’t have the time. Even if it took me 10 seconds to put together my outfit. What did I think of Fifty Shades of Grey? Read on as I tell you how I experienced this film and watching it with my best friend. And how I almost didn’t make it. Continue reading “Girls Day Out: Fifty Shades of Grey pt. 1”
One of the most long anticipated films is finally here for us ladies (and gents) to see. After Sex and the City The Movie, this is a film that many woman have waited on for a long time ever since the book came out. Of course I’m talking about nothing other than Fifty Shades Of Grey. And I must say I am one of the women who has counted the days ever since I’ve heard about the movie and the release date. Continue reading “Getting ready for Fifty Shades Of Grey”
While we are already two weeks into the year of 2015, I have to take a minute and be thankful for everything that happened to me in 2014. The year 2014 was a good year for me privately, socially and careerwise. Since a lot of bloggers are posting about the best of 2014, highlights of 2014 or the best outfits of 2014 and so on, I didn’t want to jump on that bandwagon, but still want to give you my version of a review of 2014. Continue reading “The 14 reasons why 2014 was good for me”
Winter is officially here. December 21, the shortest day of the year and I must say that it is true. This morning I waited to see what time the sun would rise or better said what time it would be daylight, because there was actually no sign of the sun today. Nothing, nada. At least not here in my city. About 9:15 it was daylight and about 15:45 it was already time for sunset. Really the shortest day, but still enjoyable. In the afternoon I went to the city center because I heard of a final sale at a shoe store with great quality shoes. Continue reading “My American style winter boots”
As you could read in my previous post about the first Caribbean Fashion Show by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I had my first catwalk experience. Next to my role as the catwalk coach for this show, I had to do a little appearance on the runway myself. In this post I would like to share this experience with you. Continue reading “My first catwalk experience”
After a week in Barcelona, Spain, I am back home in the Netherlands and recharging from my vacation. Yesterday morning I arrived home and man I needed some rest. It was a fun week where I celebrated my 30th birthday, took part in the first fashion show of Caribbean Fashion Spot and even had a little get away to Lloret de Mar. What a week. Can’t believe it went by so fast. Like I said before, I wanted to take you on this trip with me, but sadly the wifi connection was so bad that every time I wanted to do a post it just didn’t happen, so sorry about that. Especially because I know that I said there would be a new post on the website everyday. Now I know that this is not always in my hands. And when I got home yesterday, I was too tired to post something. Continue reading “Back from Barcelona”
Today I’m celebrating my 30th birthday. With the strength of the Lord I am happy I made it to this day. We started this day celebrating my new years eve at a club in Barcelona and danced the night away. Right now I’m about to head to the beach and spend the rest of the afternoon there chilling and enjoying the cool ocean wind and … Continue reading It’s my 30th Birthday!
Good evening from Barcelona, Spain. Just got here today and looking forward to an exciting week. Those who are following me on Instagram and Twitter might already know that I came to Barcelona to celebrate my birthday. Next to that I am here for the first fashion show of Dy Muñeca Caribbean Fashion Spot. A post about this fashion show is on the XX Fashion Diva Facebook page.

Like every year, I am counting down for my birthday, which is now 10 days away today. The countdown helps me to get used to the idea that I will be one year older and I also do it because I am excited to celebrate a birthday again. As you can read in my ’30 before 30 years’ post it is the year of the triple 10 and I am looking forward to that. Counting down helps me ease in this idea and I for one am ready. Are there any ladies out there who are about to join the Thirty Flirty Club (TFC)? Continue reading “10 days before triple 10”
It’s official. The summer of 2014 is over. Done, past and gone. It;s time to slowly store away our summer wardrobe, the flip-flops, bikini’s, sun hats and sunscreens (unless you’re going to a tropical Island, Lucky you) and search for those knits and boots again. As sad as I am that my favourite season is over, just as happy I am that it’s now fall :). … Continue reading Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn
You probably wouldn’t guess it but in 30 days I will be turning the big three 0. A few years ago I thought I would have a problem turning 30 but now that it is near I don’t mind at all. Bring it on, new era, new challenges, new lessons, new life. The same me but with a different mindset. While many people may not know what they want to do with their lives at this age and often still wonder when they are way over 30, I know exactly what I want in life and most importantly from myself. Continue reading “30 days before 30 years”
Today is exactly 11 years ago I started my vegetarian lifestyle. It was an idea I had going on in my head for a long time before actually doing it. When I decided that I was really going to do it, I wanted it to be on a day that I could also remember and that’s why I choose September 1. Because on this day I also started my study Nutrition and Dietetics and figured it would be a great way to start a new lifestyle altogether. Fresh out of high school, new into college and a new healthy way of eating. Not that eating meat is not healthy, I just prefer a vegetable diet and I never was a big fan of meat and fish to begin with. That made it easier for me to step into my new lifestyle. Giving you a few snapshots of the look I had on a birthday six years ago. This photo was taken at a restaurant in one of my favourite places in the Netherlands, that gives me the ultimate holiday/ bday weekend feeling: Scheveningen. This is a place in The Hague with the most wonderful boulevard in all of Holland. We had dinner at Masada Grill and I had my favourite food: pasta!
