Winter is officially here. December 21, the shortest day of the year and I must say that it is true. This morning I waited to see what time the sun would rise or better said what time it would be daylight, because there was actually no sign of the sun today. Nothing, nada. At least not here in my city. About 9:15 it was daylight and about 15:45 it was already time for sunset. Really the shortest day, but still enjoyable. First ever Caribbean Fashion Show in Barcelona, Spain
The first Caribbean Fashion Show organised by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot is a fact. On Sunday October 12, a Caribbean fashion showcase was held in a beautiful venue near the Barceloneta beach called Shoko. As the PR Executive of Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I was very proud of our first fashion show, given the work of CEO and founder Dymuñeca. She picked the designers, put together a group of models – mostly of Caribbean descent -, put together the runway looks and produced the show. Chapeau! Hiep Hiep Hooray!!! Today Suriname and Surinamese people celebrates the 39th Independence Day. On November 25, 1975 there was the day that we were no longer in the hands of the Netherlands, the Dutch people, and paved our own way as an independent country in South America. It is no secret that I was born and raised in Paramaribo, Suriname.
