2020 is not lost yet

Hey babes! Guess who is back again. No, no, I am not gonna give you a long story about why I did not post anything on the blog since May 2019. Truth is that I was too busy with life and totally put the blog to the side, but that is over now. Happy new month! Happy new quarter of 2020! Hello October! My Birthday Month. Can you believe we just started the tenth month of 2020 already? What a year it has been.

When I think back to how this year started, I get so excited all over again. The first year with double double digits. You dig? 2020! Wow, that sounded so cool. How lucky are all of us who lived to see a year like this. Twenty Twenty. Think of all the people who did not make it to the end of 2019, let along to welcome 2020. Or the people who just lost their life right before the clock hit 00:00 AM for a Happy New Year. It’s sad to imagine that they’ve never lived to see this year of the double double. Something our generation will only experience once in our life, because none of us will be here to see the next double double of 3030.

2020 came crashing down on us like a building with a terrible foundation.

Happy 2020! What a Happy New Year it was. Lucky me got to spend it with my family and other family members in my home country, something we did after 8 years. It was such an incredible start of the new year! You could feel that 2020 vibe all around. Until 2020 came crashing down on us like a building with a terrible foundation. Or so it felt.

There is no need for me to explain all the tragic events that we have gone through since this year started. Not to mention the personal tragedies most of us were faced with during the course of this year, including me and my family. But the biggest tragedy we all had to deal with worldwide was and still is the pandemic of the Corona virus. COVID-19 really changed life as we knew it before and got so many of us thinking. What has the world come to? When is this pandemic gonna end? What is gonna happen to humanity? What is gonna happen to the economy? Will life ever be the same again? Is the end near? Questions and more questions. To each of those questions there have been different theories from different groups of people.

Everything that happens in life is a lesson for us.

To a large group of people 2020 is a lost year. When I tell you about all the posts I see on instagam or hear people talk, even to me. But I am here to tell you that 2020 is not lost yet. Everything that happens in life is a lesson for us. No matter how hard it comes at us, no matter how cold and cruel life may seem at a given moment. Lessons are to be learnt. The question is: what is the lesson you have learned? Yes, a large number of people have lost their lives through all the tragic events of 2020. As a humanity we mourn, we grief. But as the saying goes: “Life goes on”. It hurts, but it’s true. Don’t we owe it to them to make the very best out of life because they can’t anymore? Don’t we owe it to ourselves?

As for COVID-19, the Coranavirus is not going anywhere, we will have to learn how to live with it. Until there is a cure for Corona, we will have to adjust to the “new normal” as it is called nowadays. Keep our distance and don’t engage in large gatherings. Work from home if possible. Wear a mask!

Through all the loss, I am still here.

My personal lesson is that through all the uncertainty, I am still here. Through all the loss, I am still here. Through all the pain, I am still here. Through all the crap that 2020 has thrown over us so far, I am still here. If you are reading this post right now, that means YOU are still here. Be grateful. Be thankful. Live life and continue to persue your dreams. Your dreams are not lost. Your goals are not useless. Do one thing everyday to achieve your goals. Because I am doing just that.

The year is not over yet. You can take this last quarter and turn things around. If you take actions right now, you can end this year with a bang! 2020 is not lost yet. It’s here!
