Crazy busy days with CFS!

It has been a hectic couple of weeks for me as the PR executive of Caribbean Fashion Spot (CFS) in combination with my other projects. How time goes by. Two weeks since I last posted something on here. There is so much going on with the Caribbean fashion show, which is coming up on July 11, 2015 at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam (MBFWA), that I want to share with you. Get ready for the first Caribbean Fashion Show at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam!

It is official! As from today, the long awaited press release of Caribbean Fashion Spot (CFS), for the first ever Caribbean Fashion Show with Caribbean fashion designers at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam (MBFWA), went out to the media, bloggers, PR companies and social media! Of course I had to share the good news with my dear readers on XX Fashion Diva. Along with the press release we made a great promo video to get you in the mood for this fashion extravaganza, that will take place during the MBFWA catwalk shows on Saturday July, 11 at the Gashouder at Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. Dressed for a Spring Wedding in Amsterdam

Sunshine, singing birds, fresh young leaves and flowers. It can mean only one thing: Spring time! Even though it is officially spring for a month now, I for one am still waiting for the real warm spring days to arrive. Although, I may not complain, because the first true spring day already made her entrance on April 10, here in the Netherlands. This day was proclaimed “Skirt Day”, which basically means that it is the first day of spring when suddenly a lot of ladies are wearing a skirt with bare legs underneath. Successful casting call for the Caribbean Fashion Show

In my special post of ten days ago I was talking about the model casting call of Caribbean Fashion Spot for the upcoming Caribbean Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. This casting day was held on Saturday, April 4 at South East in Amsterdam Southeast and was very successful, much to our content. Over 70 models came to our casting call, some with lots of runway experience, some with experience in photoshoots and add campaigns, some with a combination of everything and some with no modelling experience at all, but a very good motivation. MBFWA Outfit Day 2: Snow-White and Navy Blue

For day two of MBFWA I wanted to wear something much more different from day 1 and went with a complete opposite look. This day I wanted to keep it sweet and girly and choose to wear a dress instead of pants. As I was also visiting the Zalando 10 Days Downtown Event called ‘Fashion & Ballet’ at the Koepelkerk, Renaissance Hotel, I picked out a dress that to me matched the feeling of ballet. Since it had snowed that day, I also kinda wanted to blend in with the white color on the streets. So I ended up wearing my snow-white flared skirt dress. Here I am again with another MBFWA post and this time it’s a report of the first catwalk show I visited at the Fashion Week: Aziz Bekkaoui. As it was my first time at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam, I really enjoyed watching all the people who came all dressed up at the event. From your regular fashionista till famous Dutch personalities. It was a show where visitors of every role in the fashion industry were present. Interested fashion buyers, stylists, fashion magazine editors, fashion bloggers, fashion journalists, photographers and even tv station E! Entertainment was present to film a special ‘E! The 22nd edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam (MBFWA) is a fact. It was a wonderful fashion event that included 5 days of catwalk shows by talented and popular Dutch fashion designers at Transformatorhuis at the Westergasterrein in Amsterdam. First ever Caribbean Fashion Show in Barcelona, Spain

The first Caribbean Fashion Show organised by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot is a fact. On Sunday October 12, a Caribbean fashion showcase was held in a beautiful venue near the Barceloneta beach called Shoko. As the PR Executive of Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I was very proud of our first fashion show, given the work of CEO and founder Dymuñeca. She picked the designers, put together a group of models – mostly of Caribbean descent -, put together the runway looks and produced the show. Chapeau! Fashionistas at AFWA 2014

Where there’s fashion week, there are the fashionistas. All dressed up and ready to go. At the first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam, held last month at the World Fashion Centre (WFC), it was not any different. Since it was all about African fashion you can imagine that most of these fashionistas pulled out their African ensembles to show off at the event and pose in front of the wall of fame. Of course I couldn’t resist getting these fabulous African inspired outfits on camera and took some snap shots of my favourite ones spotted on day 1 and day to of AFWA 2014. Dope street style at Kwaku Summer Festival in Amsterdam

Kwaku Summer Festival is an annual Surinamese themed summer festival that is being held in Amsterdam Southeast (The Bijlmer) for a few weekends, on Saturday on Sunday, in a row. This used to be six weekends, but this year the festival was open for five weekends. From July 12 – August 10, visitors of Kwaku were able to enjoy good music, entertainment, shopping at different booths and of course good Surinamese food, and lots of it. Typical Surinamese dishes, snacks, pastry, drinks (Parbo Bier) and desserts are yours for the choosing. And a lot of BBQ. If you want a taste of the Surinamese culture Kwaku is the place to be. At Kwaku you can experience a little bit of Suriname without actually taking that trip all the way to South America. Besides Surinamese food and other Caribbean food, there is also African food and Dutch food and since it’s summer time you can find fresh tropical fruits and fruit juices at several fruit booths.
