Sunshine, singing birds, fresh young leaves and flowers. It can mean only one thing: Spring time! Even though it is officially spring for a month now, I for one am still waiting for the real warm spring days to arrive. Although, I may not complain, because the first true spring day already made her entrance on April 10, here in the Netherlands. This day was proclaimed “Skirt Day”, which basically means that it is the first day of spring when suddenly a lot of ladies are wearing a skirt with bare legs underneath. But Skirt Day wasn’t the only thing happening, as I had a Spring Wedding to attend on that same Sunny Friday of April. Continue reading “Dressed for a Spring Wedding in Amsterdam”
As you could read in my previous post about the first Caribbean Fashion Show by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I had my first catwalk experience. Next to my role as the catwalk coach for this show, I had to do a little appearance on the runway myself. In this post I would like to share this experience with you. Continue reading “My first catwalk experience”
Two weeks ago I went on a one day road trip to Knokke with a friend. As the summer was almost coming to an end and I haven’t been abroad since Jamaica, I was feeling spontaneous. So I called up my friend early in the morning to see if she would share my spontaneity and she did. There we were on our way with drinks and snacks for our almost 3 hour road trip with background music and an open rooftop. Halfway we made a pit stop and I had a cheat eat at McDonald’s of which I shared a photo on Instagram. We made it to Knokke around a few minutes past five in the afternoon. The first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam is a fact. Like you can read in my previous post “Africa Fashion Week is taking Amsterdam“, I attended the fashion shows, held in World Fashion Centre (WFC), to volunteer on day 1 and visited as press on day 2. From both days there are cover stories available in the posts about Preparation and Backstage, AFWA day 1 and AFWA day 2. While on day 1 I had my work outfit on, which was a simple black suit and a white blouse, on day 2 it was time to shine again. Continue reading “Stylish in H&M with a touch de l’Afrique at AFWA 2014”
Good evening y’all. And what a good evening it is indeed. Weekend is near and I am so thrilled about that since it’s going to be the weekend of the Africa Fashion Week in Amsterdam (AFWA 2014), which I will attend and am so excited about. Tomorrow I’m going to look for an outfit in the stores. But tonight I want to give you a quick throwback just as I did last week with a Flashback Friday post.
On Saturday April 26, as you can read in my previous post “Open Air Boutique on Kingsday”, it was the first Kingsday in the Netherlands. I also shared with you that I participated on the free market with my cousins by presenting our own Open Air Boutique. After a fun day of releasing my inner sales person, I went to Amsterdam city with my best friend. Since it was Kingsday I wanted to dress appropriately, with a royal touch, and so I did. With my natural curly hair it is always a bit of a task to get a proper hairdo, and I didn’t feel like taking on this task that day. Instead of spending half an hour getting my hair done, I choose to go African chic with one of the trending items of today, the headscarf. Continue reading “A touch of African Queen on Kingsday”
Yesterday I posted a picture of myself in the post “My special outfit” and told you that it was for a special day. This outfit I wore to the grand opening of the first Forever 21 in Amsterdam. As a fashion blogger I also went there to blog about the opening and I wanted to dress the part. I choose to wear my XX Fashion Diva t-shirt, one of my merchandise pieces, that I’d made especially for branding XX Fashion Diva. This way I wanted to send the message that I was there for my readers as well.
Every woman has her own little obsessions when it comes to fashion. So do I. Over these passed years I’ve realised that I have a few things I am totally crazy about, that I buy them on a regular basis. Here it comes. Continue reading “Things I am obsessed with”
