Happy news about Zalando and Topshop

This monday I got to read some great news on one of my favorite and trustworthy fashion websites Fashionunited that made me want to share it with you. Some of you may and some of you may not know that Zalando, one of Europe’s biggest e-commerce companies founded in Germany, is going to work together with Topshop. Woohoow! As from this fall Zalando will sell the collection of Topshop and Topman on the webshop in European countries, of which we’re talking clothing, shoes and accessories. The collection will be updated every two weeks. Jeej! Isn’t that wonderful.. Continue reading “Happy news about Zalando and Topshop”

Congratulations to FIFA World Champion 2014: Germany

World Champion Germany collage

Es geht nicht weiter! Die Deutsche Mannschaft ist Weltmeister. Those were the words of the reporter on the German Channel ARD after the referee whistled for the ending of the FIFA World Cup 2014 final Germany vs. Argentina in Brasil. Meaning that it doesn’t get any better. The German team is World Champion. What we all knew happened and I for one am happy for the Germans. Germany became the first World Champion from Europe on South American ground. That’s why I agree to also say Hochachtung fur die Deutsche Mannschaft. Deep respect for the German team. That’s right, I’m a football fanatic too. Continue reading “Congratulations to FIFA World Champion 2014: Germany”

Like I did with my first impressions of Atlanta, this is also a pictures only post of my first impressions of Kingston. Hope you enjoy these ass well. Starting with the first view of Jamaica taken from my window seat in the airplane, followed by a few boards on the wall at the airport upon arrival, which I really like. Then I have some shots of the first day and what food I had then, and some photos of the neighbourhood where I was in Kingston 5, in suburban Mona. While you all are looking at these photos I’m back in the Netherlands safe and sound.  Continue reading “Plog: My first impressions of Kingston”

The Amsterdam Denim Days 204 are a fact. Of course I had to be there to witness this event that was held for the first time in the Netherlands. On Saturday May 10 I visited the second day of Blueprint at Westergasfabriek, the event for the public, with my mom. Like always I took lots of pictures. In this post I’ll show you part 1 .  Continue reading “Plog Amsterdam Denim Days 2014 Blueprint pt. 1”

Open Air Boutique on Kingsday

IMG-20140426-04137

Last year on this date, April 30, it was the last Queensday in the Netherlands. On this day, April 30 2013, the crown prince Willem Alexander was crowned King of the Netherlands, meaning the national holiday Queensday is now Kingsday. The difference is that the date April 30 we were all used to for decades is now changed to April 26. This is because April 30 was the birthday of the late former Queen Juliana, and also the date her daughter, crown princess Beatrix at that time and now former Queen Beatrix, was crowned Queen of the Netherlands. Queen Beatrix kept the tradition of the national holiday Queensday on April 30. But since King Willem Alexander is crowned, this holiday is changed to April 26, given the fact that this is his birthday, even if he was crowned on April 30 also. So last Saturday April 26 we had our first Kingsday. Continue reading “Open Air Boutique on Kingsday”

My Topshop discovery

I’ve heard about Topshop via internet and was a little bummed that it isn’t in the Netherlands. So I thought. Oh, well when I’m in the UK or USA I will visit this store because they have great fashion pieces. I like it, I wanna see more. Men, why isn’t this shop here? Bummer! All this was going through my mind when I saw their fashion for the first time. Just two days ago I found out that Topshop is also in the Netherlands. That is the moment when I googled Topshop and read that there is a store in the Netherlands indeed. Continue reading “My Topshop discovery”

If it’s in, it’s on the Fabulist..One more night!

The Fabulist

For a few weeks now the commercial has aired on E! Entertainment. If it’s in, it’s on the Fabulist! Premiers Monday March 31 only on E! My curiosity was running wild at first to know what The Fabulist was. Just three days ago my curiosity was a little satisfied when they revealed that it is a trend forecasting television series hosted by Kristin Cavallari and Orly Shani. Although I am reading a lot of mixed messages about when the show will air, it seems like it’s already started in some countries (USA). But for those living in the Netherlands at least the show will première on monday March 31st. Continue reading “If it’s in, it’s on the Fabulist..One more night!”

My renewed love for Primark

In Europe most of us know and love Primark, especially for their low prices. It is the perfect store for fashionistas on a budget. Because I wasn’t the biggest fan of Primark at the beginning (See post “My first experiences with Primark”) I wasn’t very excited to find out that there was finally going to be a store in my city Almere in november 2012. And I most certainly didn’t plan to visit that store in the first week, let along the first day which was 12-12-2012. That would be hell with the massive crowd.

My first experiences with Primark

Primark Oxford St East

My first visit to a Primark store was in june 2011, in the city Hoofddorp, Netherlands. I’ve heard about this store where you can buy great fashion for very low prices. But back then Primark wasn’t in my city yet. The day I visited Primark was actually a day that I had a promotion gig for Lipton Ice Tea in the centre of Hoofddorp. Every once in a while a do these projects for A class brands. So that day after work was done my colleagues decided to go shopping at Primark and, since I’ve never been and was curious about it, I decided to join them. Fashion Truck Dutch style at Huishoudbeurs 2014

Hhb13

Real fashionistas already know about the concept of a Fashion Truck. Like the name already may suggest it is a truck from which fashion items are sold. This concept is specifically known in the United States, started in the Streets of New York City, but is now making it’s way to the Netherlands as the new shopping trend.
