73 things you didn’t know about Victoria Beckham

Back in the nineties when Spice Girls was the number one girl group in the world, my favorite spice girls was always Victoria Beckham. Ever since I was a young girl, anything chic had my attention. Victoria with her band my name Posh Spice immediately caught my eye out of all the other girls in the group. Looking at her I could tell that she had a great sense of fashion and that someday she would be doing something with that talent and achieving great things. Fast-forward 20 years later and look at what she has become. Continue reading “73 things you didn’t know about Victoria Beckham”

MBFWA F/W 2015: Attending Aziz Bekkaoui

20150123_181138

Here I am again with another MBFWA post and this time it’s a report of the first catwalk show I visited at the Fashion Week: Aziz Bekkaoui. As it was my first time at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam, I really enjoyed watching all the people who came all dressed up at the event. From your regular fashionista till famous Dutch personalities. It was a show where visitors of every role in the fashion industry were present. Interested fashion buyers, stylists, fashion magazine editors, fashion bloggers, fashion journalists, photographers and even tv station E! Entertainment was present to film a special ‘E! Live From The Red Carpet’.  Continue reading “MBFWA F/W 2015: Attending Aziz Bekkaoui”

20150123_202916

The 22nd edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam (MBFWA) is a fact. It was a wonderful fashion event that included 5 days of catwalk shows by talented and popular Dutch fashion designers at Transformatorhuis at the Westergasterrein in Amsterdam. Lucky me got to see two catwalk shows and was invited to one of the events of the Zalando 10 Days Downtown program. Lets get wild at Keti Koti Festival with Sonia Noel

First Resort by Sonia Noel (7)

On July first the Surinamese people celebrate the abolition of Slavery in Suriname. This is a very big celebration in Suriname and a National Holiday. In the Netherlands there are also celebrations of this historic occurrence for all the Surinamese people who live here. Little history class: Suriname was a colony of the Netherlands and became independent on November 25, 1975. That day is our very own Independence Day, our 4th of July. But that’s a whole nother story. On July 1st we celebrate the emancipation of our black ancestors and our freedom. The biggest celebration is the Keti Koti Festival in Amsterdam at Oosterpark, a big park in Amsterdam East. On this day I couldn’t think of anything better to wear then a piece by one of my favorite Caribbean designers, a powerful black woman, the very talented miss Sonia Noel. Good news for Daisy fans! Downtown Kingston is not downtown Manhattan

20140616_171253

One of the things I really wanted to do while in Kingston, Jamaica was visiting downtown Kingston. From day one the locals told me that it wasn’t what I may picture in my head. “Downtown Kingston is not like downtown Manhattan where you can walk down the street in your high heels with your designer purse”, is what I was told by the local we were staying at. “It’s rough”. No matter how rough it might be, I am a Caribbean girl also, so how much more rough can it be than downtown Paramaribo, Suriname I thought. Before my time in Kingston was up, I wanted to visit downtown Kingston and see it for myself. So on my last day in Kingston I did. Continue reading “Downtown Kingston is not downtown Manhattan”

How I experienced the CFW 2014 fashion shows in Kingston

DSC_0096

The Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica was the first international Fashion Week I’ve been to and therefore it’s definitely going in my Fashion History Book. It was a pleasure and honor to be there as one of the media to capture this event from the frontline for Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot. Like I told you before in this post about CFW, I was there as a part of the Caribbean Fashion Spot. That’s why I talk about “we” in my Jamaica posts. My biggest role at the Caribbean Fashion Week shows was that of photographer. In this post I will share my experience of being photographer, visitor and fashionista at the same time. Fashion and romance in Dutch film ‘Hartenstraat’

Hartenstraat header

Besides fashion and good food I really love movies. I guess you can say that when it comes to movies I am a big Hollywood fan. But from time to time I can watch a Dutch movie if the storyline sounds good. So I did yesterday. Since I had to be in Amsterdam city centre for a meeting, I thought why not take this opportunity to go see a movie at the Pathé cinema in the city centre, giving the fact that I almost always go to the cinema in Amsterdam Southeast.
