Monday Inspiration: Do something totally different

We all have those moments where we ask ourselves if what we are doing is fulfilling enough and if we like it as much as we tell ourselves. Most of the time it can be work and career related, but also private. That’s why you sometimes need to take a step back from your daily routine and test the waters. Today I have a personal quote … Continue reading Monday Inspiration: Do something totally different

Plog: The Marc Jacobs Tweet shop in Amsterdam

MJDaisyChainAMS (12)

Good evening everyone this time from my lovely bed. Last week I told you that the Marc Jacobs Tweet shop would be at de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam for the promotion of the new women fragrance Daisy Dream. This was a four day promo from Thu. Aug 14 – Sun. Aug 17 where you had to tweet about the promo using the hashtag #MJDaisyChainAMS and would get a free Marc Jacobs sample, or item if you used a photo in your tweet. On Friday August 15 I visited the Tweet shop to check out this promo and get some goodies myself. Continue reading “Plog: The Marc Jacobs Tweet shop in Amsterdam”

Black with gold sparkles for Bo Monde

Bo Monde Juni 20141

Good evening everyone. Another night blogging from my couch after catching up on some fashion news and going through a few emails. In my post from yesterday I told you about the party with an elite touch to it, Bo Monde in Amsterdam. Today I like to share the look I was rocking that night. For this event there was a dress code of black, white, and gold. As usual you can imagine that not everybody followed this, but as the good girl I am, I did. It can be a challenge to find an outfit that suits the dress code just fine and I’m always up for a challenge. But in this case I didn’t have to think long and hard because I choose to wear an outfit I already worn before. Ooeh, talking about an outfit repeater. Double slit maxi and representing at Summer Carnaval in Rotterdam

Maxi Su (1)

Good evening from my cosy couch. While I’m on the topic of events these past days, I wanted to share the look I was sporting at another event this summer. Only this time we’re taking it to Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam. Just like you might have seen I’m spending quite a lot of time in Amsterdam, visiting events and festivals, but not so much in Rotterdam. Well what can I say. I Love Amsterdam! But once a year I clear my schedule till early in the evening for my favorite event of the summer. The Summer Carnaval. As a Caribbean/ South American girl, music, dancing, parades and good food is in my blood. Like every year you could find me in Rotterdam for the Summer Carnaval, which was exactly a month ago today. Party Plog: Bo Monde, a party for beautiful people

Bo Monde Juni 2014

In my previous posts you’ve seen me at the Keti Koti Festival in Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Reggae Village. In this post we’re staying on the topic of great events in Amsterdam. While you’ve seen me in my Reggae outfit at the reggae festival, I was sporting a more chique look at a party the night before: Bo Monde. This is a party you can attend by invitation only with an elite touch to it, which I came across on Facebook before its second edition. Since I’d missed the chance of being at the second edition due to a rather late request ( I imagine), I wanted to be there for the third edition. This time I got myself invited. Putting some Reggae in to it

AMS Reggae Festival (2)

The weekend before the Keti Koti Festival I went to another festival in Amsterdam where it was all about good reggae music. The first edition of the Amsterdam Reggae Village, an indoor festival in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam Southeast. A friend of mine actually invited me on Facebook to join this event. Still in Jamaica mode after my trip, I was very thrilled to read about it, and visited the website immediately. As a reggae lover I couldn’t miss the first edition of this reggae festival and of course said yes to the invitation.  Continue reading “Putting some Reggae in to it”

Lets get wild at Keti Koti Festival with Sonia Noel

First Resort by Sonia Noel (7)

On July first the Surinamese people celebrate the abolition of Slavery in Suriname. This is a very big celebration in Suriname and a National Holiday. In the Netherlands there are also celebrations of this historic occurrence for all the Surinamese people who live here. Little history class: Suriname was a colony of the Netherlands and became independent on November 25, 1975. That day is our very own Independence Day, our 4th of July. But that’s a whole nother story. On July 1st we celebrate the emancipation of our black ancestors and our freedom. The biggest celebration is the Keti Koti Festival in Amsterdam at Oosterpark, a big park in Amsterdam East. On this day I couldn’t think of anything better to wear then a piece by one of my favorite Caribbean designers, a powerful black woman, the very talented miss Sonia Noel. Monday Inspiration: God has something better for you

In the past I used to be so disappointed when I didn’t get the job I wanted, had to hear rejection after rejection. And just other disappointments about things that didn’t workout the way I wanted, careerwise or in my private life. But then one day I realised that everything happens for a reason, and there is always something better that awaits. Because God has a plan … Continue reading Monday Inspiration: God has something better for you
