Representing Paramaribo City in Kingston

Represent Parbo (3)

On my last day in Kingston I wanted to wear something casual and simple, as we would be out for the whole day, and finally visit downtown Kingston. And what better way to do that than the famous combination of jeans and a t-shirt. Besides that I wanted to go out and represent a little. One of my motto’s in life is that you always have to know where you come from to know where you go. Never forget who you are. The best way for me to represent was to wear one of my favorite shirts from the I Love Su brand. The shirt that has the name of the City that I was born and raised in: Paramaribo. How I celebrated the first day of summer

Summerday 9

While sitting here ending this weekend with a cold cosmopolitan, I wanted to tell you about how I spent the first day of summer 2014. Like I told you in my previous post Happy first day of summer, I always wear a new summer dress on june 21 to celebrate the kick off of the summer season, I also added a picture of the dress. And when I wear a new dress I want to go somewhere special or do something special. After being at home most of the day, watching a few episodes of the series Awkward on MTV and working on my laptop, I wanted to take it outside to celebrate summer and wear my new dress. So I did. Continue reading “How I celebrated the first day of summer”

Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica

CFW 2014 Jamaica

The reason I went to Jamaica was to attend the 14th edition of the Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 as a part of Dy Muñeca The Caribbean Fashion Spot. As the PR Executive (including photographer) and fashion & lifestyle editor I had to be there to capture this great event, meet designers, network, and just experience the Caribbean Fashion World.  Continue reading “Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica”

My first day in Kingston, Jamaica

20140611_182432

In my previous post I told you about how we tried to visit the beach on the first day, but that didn’t went as we thought it would. Well the day wasn’t a total loss. Although we were at the Half Way Tree bus terminal for almost 1,5 hours walking, searching, asking for directions and waiting for the bus without any luck, we did do something while already outside. We walked a little around Half Way Tree, visited the Pavilion Mall and then ended up at Sovereign Centre in Liguanea. Continue reading “My first day in Kingston, Jamaica”

Breaking in my Versace leggings in Jamaica

Hellshire Beach june 12 1

What is the first thing you want to do when you’re on an island? Well…? Yes, that’s right. Going to the beach and enjoying the view, the white sand, the blue water, the clear blue sky and of course the sun. So that’s the first thing we tried to do on our first whole day on the Island of Jamaica. I say tried because that is exactly what we did.  Continue reading “Breaking in my Versace leggings in Jamaica”

Tribute to Michael Jackson

Today is the 5 year anniversary of the death of pop legend Michael Jackson. It has been 5 years ago that the world lost the King of Pop. I still remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard this sad news. Do you remember? To honor this legend who will never be forgotten I would like to take a moment to remember him and share my favorite video of him starring actor Eddy Murphy and model Iman Abdulmajid. Which video do you think it is? Excuse the puns (which were a little bit intended). Continue reading “Tribute to Michael Jackson”

Happy first day of Summer

20140612_161120

Yes! It’s Summertime, my favorite season of the year. Sunshine, colorful dresses, bright nail polish, skirts, shorts, tank tops, flip-flops, sandals and shades. Just a few of my favorite items to wear during summertime. Every year I wear a new summer dress on the 21 of June to celebrate the official kick off the Summer Season. This year is no different. Like I did with my first impressions of Atlanta, this is also a pictures only post of my first impressions of Kingston. Hope you enjoy these ass well. Starting with the first view of Jamaica taken from my window seat in the airplane, followed by a few boards on the wall at the airport upon arrival, which I really like. Then I have some shots of the first day and what food I had then, and some photos of the neighbourhood where I was in Kingston 5, in suburban Mona. While you all are looking at these photos I’m back in the Netherlands safe and sound.  Continue reading “Plog: My first impressions of Kingston”

Plog: My first impressions of Atlanta

Atlanta0

By now I am already in Jamaica as you may understand from my last post. Before landing in Kingston I had a transfer in Atlanta, Georgia. Due to custom check ups I didn’t have much time to walk around the airport and outside. This is what I was able to capture. In this plog I give you my first impressions of Atlanta (ATL) with pictures only. Continue reading “Plog: My first impressions of Atlanta”

My first Blogger Event

BeautyPlus_20140607003815_fast[1]

Last week I went to my first Blogger event in Amsterdam on May 28. After I started my blog I also went on the internet to explore the blogging world a little, see what it’s out there for bloggers like myself and meet other bloggers. During my search I found Blog Society. This is a Blogger network for Dutch bloggers that helps marketing your blog, gets you to connect with other bloggers, and provides you with community benefits. The idea sounded nice, and after 6 weeks online with XX Fashion Diva I decided to sign up. It wasn’t long after that I found out they were going to organize a Blogger Event for the newbies to get to know one another. Continue reading “My first Blogger Event”
