While we’re on the subject of change this Monday, I thought we could look at this subject from a fashion point of view also. And it just so happened that I stumbled upon this nice video on YouTube about fashion items that changed the world. There is no argue with that, all these items changed the world and every fashionista has at least 3 or more of these fashion items in their closet. Myself included! As you could read in my previous posts, I took a little trip to Barcelona last month to celebrate my birthday. It was nothing too fancy and I spend the day with a small group. Since I’ve been celebrating my birthday for years in the autumn time here in the cold, I couldn’t let the opportunity of going to the beach in October pass me by. So that’s where we headed after a nice lunch, I was wearing my new Denim & Co dress and sunglasses. How amazing it was to have a sunny birthday after all these years. Hola from Barcelona. It is so good to be back here. Every time I’m in Barcelona I do feel like I’m on holiday for sure. The temperatures, the sun, the breeze, the palm trees, the whole enchilada. Barcelona, te quiero mucho. After a good night of sleep and a good lunch I was ready to take on Barcelona yesterday. Like I told you in my previous post I’m here to celebrate my birthday and, besides from my sister who lives in Barça and my mom who came with me, I invited two special guests with me to come join me for this long Birthday Weekend. Two weeks ago I went on a one day road trip to Knokke with a friend. As the summer was almost coming to an end and I haven’t been abroad since Jamaica, I was feeling spontaneous. So I called up my friend early in the morning to see if she would share my spontaneity and she did. There we were on our way with drinks and snacks for our almost 3 hour road trip with background music and an open rooftop. Halfway we made a pit stop and I had a cheat eat at McDonald’s of which I shared a photo on Instagram. We made it to Knokke around a few minutes past five in the afternoon. Last week I told you that the Marc Jacobs Tweet shop would be at de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam for the promotion of the new women fragrance Daisy Dream. This was a four day promo from Thu. Aug 14 – Sun. Aug 17 where you had to tweet about the promo using the hashtag #MJDaisyChainAMS and would get a free Marc Jacobs sample, or item if you used a photo in your tweet. Yesterday I posted a picture of myself in the post “My special outfit” and told you that it was for a special day. This outfit I wore to the grand opening of the first Forever 21 in Amsterdam. As a fashion blogger I also went there to blog about the opening and I wanted to dress the part. I choose to wear my XX Fashion Diva t-shirt, one of my merchandise pieces, that I’d made especially for branding XX Fashion Diva. This way I wanted to send the message that I was there for my readers as well.

In Europe most of us know and love Primark, especially for their low prices. It is the perfect store for fashionistas on a budget. Because I wasn’t the biggest fan of Primark at the beginning (See post “My first experiences with Primark”) I wasn’t very excited to find out that there was finally going to be a store in my city Almere in november 2012. And I most certainly didn’t plan to visit that store in the first week, let along the first day which was 12-12-2012. That would be hell with the massive crowd.
