As a true fashionista and film fanatic, I always look at films in two ways: the story and the styling. The fashion styling that is, especially on the women. Today I’ve found a video that shows us how the fashion of women in films has evolved in the last century. Very interesting to see if you like film styling as much as I do. Wondering around YouTube, searching for fashion and lifestyle videos, is one of my favorite things to do on the internet, especially during the winter season. Getting a peak inside the closet of other ladies is always fun for me. Last week, while searching for closet tour videos just to get some new inspiration, I came across a video of a closet I couldn’t keep from you. It’s official. The summer of 2014 is over. Done, past and gone. It;s time to slowly store away our summer wardrobe, the flip-flops, bikini’s, sun hats and sunscreens (unless you’re going to a tropical Island, Lucky you) and search for those knits and boots again. As sad as I am that my favourite season is over, just as happy I am that it’s now fall :). … Continue reading Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn
We all are familiar with that problem, right ladies. You have a great party coming up, a glamorous event or even a first date. There you are standing in front of your closet looking at piles of clothes, going trough your racks and there it is..that big sigh! OML I have nothing to wear. Even for a creative soul like me it can happen that from time to time I don’t have inspiration. No matter what I want to do, I just can’t seem to get myself to do it. Even if it looks so good in my head. Picturing something and actually doing it are two different things. A good dose of inspiration is just what I need to get me going again. These are the times that I turn to the most popular video website that always helps me out: YouTube. Continue reading “Videos to watch on YouTube for inspiration”
One of my favorite fashion series on television is What Not To Wear. In this show stylists Stacy London and Clinton Kelly give women, whose style is just a big no-no, a fashion make over. These women are nominated by their friends and family to be on the show because they think that help is much needed. If these women agree to play by the rules of Stacy and Clinton they get a credit card worth of 5000 dollars to get a whole new wardrobe by shopping in New York. Not only do they get to buy a whole new wardrobe, they also get a new hair style from hair stylist Ted Gibson, and a whole new look from make up artist Carmindy.
Spring time is almost here. You know what that means to most of us. Spring cleaning! And to me a big part of spring cleaning means: cleaning out the closet. Every year I have a period where I go through my closet and give away clothing, but also shoes and bags that I don’t want anymore for several reasons. It could be because I don’t like them anymore, the colors faded, I’ve outgrown them in the sense of maturing, or it’s just out of style. Not that I care too much about what’s in style, but sometimes you gotta admit when something is just not done anymore. Continue reading “Cleaning out the closet part one”
