Successful casting call for the Caribbean Fashion Show

Casting Call CFS (5)

In my special post of ten days ago I was talking about the model casting call of Caribbean Fashion Spot for the upcoming Caribbean Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. This casting day was held on Saturday, April 4 at South East in Amsterdam Southeast and was very successful, much to our content. Over 70 models came to our casting call, some with lots of runway experience, some with experience in photoshoots and add campaigns, some with a combination of everything and some with no modelling experience at all, but a very good motivation. All candidates that are worth to be considered for the job. Continue reading “Successful casting call for the Caribbean Fashion Show”

Fashion Trends 2015 – Style runway trends in everyday life

Today I found a great video for you from the fashionista of YouTube channel “StealTheSpotlight”. In this video she shows us how to style the different runway trends, that were seen on various fashion shows during Fashion Week Season, in our everyday life. From the seventies trend to the kimono inspired light weight coats. Great styling tips and I thank her very much for them. Have a look. MBFWA F/W 2015: Attending Aziz Bekkaoui

20150123_181138

Here I am again with another MBFWA post and this time it’s a report of the first catwalk show I visited at the Fashion Week: Aziz Bekkaoui. As it was my first time at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam, I really enjoyed watching all the people who came all dressed up at the event. From your regular fashionista till famous Dutch personalities. It was a show where visitors of every role in the fashion industry were present. Interested fashion buyers, stylists, fashion magazine editors, fashion bloggers, fashion journalists, photographers and even tv station E! Entertainment was present to film a special ‘E! Live From The Red Carpet’.  Continue reading “MBFWA F/W 2015: Attending Aziz Bekkaoui”

First ever Caribbean Fashion Show in Barcelona, Spain

Caribbean Fashion Show Shoko

The first Caribbean Fashion Show organised by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot is a fact. On Sunday October 12, a Caribbean fashion showcase was held in a beautiful venue near the Barceloneta beach called Shoko. As the PR Executive of Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I was very proud of our first fashion show, given the work of CEO and founder Dymuñeca. She picked the designers, put together a group of models – mostly of Caribbean descent -, put together the runway looks and produced the show. Chapeau! It was the first ever Caribbean fashion show in Europe. Continue reading “First ever Caribbean Fashion Show in Barcelona, Spain”

Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam 2014 (AFWA 2014) is a fact. This past weekend was all about African and African inspired fashion as the first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam took place at the World Fashion Center (WFC) in Amsterdam. On Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31 visitors of AFWA were able to enjoy the runway shows with colourful and bold African prints, entertainment and celebrity hosts. The first day was about the Student Show and Catwalk Show where students and emerging designers showcased their work. Day two was a bit more glamorous as it was the day of the Gala Show. How I experienced the CFW 2014 fashion shows in Kingston

DSC_0096

The Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica was the first international Fashion Week I’ve been to and therefore it’s definitely going in my Fashion History Book. It was a pleasure and honor to be there as one of the media to capture this event from the frontline for Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot. Like I told you before in this post about CFW, I was there as a part of the Caribbean Fashion Spot. That’s why I talk about “we” in my Jamaica posts. My biggest role at the Caribbean Fashion Week shows was that of photographer. In this post I will share my experience of being photographer, visitor and fashionista at the same time. My take on the Kimye Vogue Cover

Kim Kanye April 2014 Vogue cover medium

With all the backlash on the Kim and Kanye Vogue cover happening all over the internet, you would think that Anna Wintour really lost it on this one. I’d say the opposite is true. Kim and Kanye did deserve to be on the Vogue cover, and I expected nothing less than this day to arrive. It is sad that some people decided to cancel their Vogue subscription because of one cover, and now think that Vogue has lowered the high standards. But you can’t please everybody. Now you see that not even Anna Wintour can. Continue reading “My take on the Kimye Vogue Cover”
