Get inspired by this must see closet tour

Wondering around YouTube, searching for fashion and lifestyle videos, is one of my favorite things to do on the internet, especially during the winter season. Getting a peak inside the closet of other ladies is always fun for me. Last week, while searching for closet tour videos just to get some new inspiration, I came across a video of a closet I couldn’t keep from you. Fashionistas at AFWA 2014

AFWA Fashionistas

Where there’s fashion week, there are the fashionistas. All dressed up and ready to go. At the first edition of Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam, held last month at the World Fashion Centre (WFC), it was not any different. Since it was all about African fashion you can imagine that most of these fashionistas pulled out their African ensembles to show off at the event and pose in front of the wall of fame. Of course I couldn’t resist getting these fabulous African inspired outfits on camera and took some snap shots of my favourite ones spotted on day 1 and day to of AFWA 2014. Fashionable African singer Yemi Alade

Yemi-Alade-Tangerine-post

After Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam (AFWA 2014) I am so in the spirit of African fashion and African music, that while googling for Diana Tambe, the founder of AFWA, I stumbled on a music video by Yemi Alade. A beautiful 25 year old singer from Nigeria. This music video captured my attention right away. First thing I noticed: her outfits! Love it. And of course the song is nice too, it’s got that swinging African beat that makes you feel happy and wanna dance. Miss Yemi has got herself a new fan. You can imagine that I had to find out more about this Nigerian beauty and fashionista. Yemi was even a talked about topic on the Google hangout of USA’s first lady Michelle Obama and featured on MTV.com, so you know her music must be good. If you love the Afro dance movement, just watch. Continue reading “Fashionable African singer Yemi Alade”

Tricky Tuesday: Troy the most handsome magician in town

Troy

This post might be different from what you guys are used to, but it will be the first one of my entertainment section. In this post I would like you to meet Troy. A young and very handsome magician from Southeast London who now has his own television show on the Discovery channel. It was about a month and a half ago that I came across his show while zapping on tv and his looks made me stop on the Discovery channel immediately. And what a discovery it was. Ladies, you’re gonna thank me for this one. The name Troy made me think of a series or something, but when I read in the info that he was a magician, I had to see the show. Sadly, I was on my way out and couldn’t watch it at that moment but I recorded it and finally had a look today. Together with my mom I watched the show and then went on YouTube on tv for some more. We experienced a very tricky Tuesday. Continue reading “Tricky Tuesday: Troy the most handsome magician in town”

Breaking in my Versace leggings in Jamaica

Hellshire Beach june 12 1

What is the first thing you want to do when you’re on an island? Well…? Yes, that’s right. Going to the beach and enjoying the view, the white sand, the blue water, the clear blue sky and of course the sun. So that’s the first thing we tried to do on our first whole day on the Island of Jamaica. I say tried because that is exactly what we did.  Continue reading “Breaking in my Versace leggings in Jamaica”

My renewed love for Primark

In Europe most of us know and love Primark, especially for their low prices. It is the perfect store for fashionistas on a budget. Because I wasn’t the biggest fan of Primark at the beginning (See post “My first experiences with Primark”) I wasn’t very excited to find out that there was finally going to be a store in my city Almere in november 2012. And I most certainly didn’t plan to visit that store in the first week, let along the first day which was 12-12-2012. That would be hell with the massive crowd.

Great affordable fashion at Donna di Ricardo Amsterdam

Donna di Ricardo

Fashion is not about labels and the amount you spend on it. It’s about being you in your very best way. That is not hard to achieve with all the fashion boutiques in shopping malls we have today all over the world. In this post I have a few pictures of a women’s boutique called Donna di Ricardo in the shopping centre “Amsterdamse Poort” in Amsterdam Southeast (Amsterdam Zuidoost). As I was visiting this shopping centre at the beginning of this month I was amazed by their spring collections. Donna di Ricardo offers affordable fashion for the everyday fashionista. The Huishoudbeurs in Amsterdam is over. This annual fair in Amsterdam is the place to be for all things trending for your household. It attracts mainly female visitors but is also visited by men who attend the fair with their wives or girlfriends.
