Meet the models of the first Caribbean fashion show at MBFWA

CFS-MBFWA websiteWeeks ago we’ve met the designers who are going to wow us with their stunning mid- high fashion designer pieces at the first Caribbean fashion show during Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam on Saturday, July 11, 2015. Sadly, one of them has cancelled, so the show will go on with five designers instead of six. That should not stop the fun! Because this time I am gonna let you meet the next best thing after the gorgeous designs. The Caribbean and exotic looking models! Jamaica Nostalgia: one year after

20140610_201635

Last year on June 10, I was on my way as part of Caribbean Fashion Spot (CFS) to Jamaica for the Caribbean Fashion Week in Kingston. This week I’m feeling a little nostalgic and like to look back on the great time I had during this “workaction”, starting with the trip to Kingston. The best trips are those of which you mix business with pleasure. If someone would’ve told me that one year later CFS would be in the middle of organizing its own Caribbean fashion show during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam (MBFWA), I would not have believed them. Meet the designers of the first Caribbean fashion show at MBFWA

CFS-MBFWA Designers 2015

This summer Caribbean Fashion Spot will bring you the first ever Caribbean fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. Six designers in the mid- and high segment will be showing their beautiful and inspiring collection on Saturday July 11, 2015 in the ‘Gashouder’, both clothing and accessories. The fashion labels that will be featured are all very different from one another, but all have that Caribbean touch to it.

CFS Logo 2

It has been a hectic couple of weeks for me as the PR executive of Caribbean Fashion Spot (CFS) in combination with my other projects. How time goes by. Two weeks since I last posted something on here. There is so much going on with the Caribbean fashion show, which is coming up on July 11, 2015 at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam (MBFWA), that I want to share with you. But let me start with the most important: Caribbean Fashion Spot is now officially on the program of MBFWA. Continue reading “Crazy busy days with CFS!”

Successful casting call for the Caribbean Fashion Show

Casting Call CFS (5)

In my special post of ten days ago I was talking about the model casting call of Caribbean Fashion Spot for the upcoming Caribbean Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. This casting day was held on Saturday, April 4 at South East in Amsterdam Southeast and was very successful, much to our content. Over 70 models came to our casting call, some with lots of runway experience, some with experience in photoshoots and add campaigns, some with a combination of everything and some with no modelling experience at all, but a very good motivation. All candidates that are worth to be considered for the job. Continue reading “Successful casting call for the Caribbean Fashion Show”

Caribbean Fashion Fundraiser

Caribbean Fashion Show Shoko

Hello my dear readers. In this post I would kindly like to ask you all for a favour and hope you can help out. As you may know, I am the PR Executive of Caribbean Fashion Spot, something I have talked about a few times before and you can read on the “About Me” page. Caribbean Fashion Spot, published by a young Dutch international (online) marketing and PR company ‘IRC’, is an online medium that promotes Caribbean fashion and recently also organizes fashion events to put the Caribbean fashion industry more in the spotlight in Europe. We would like to include the Caribbean fashion in the international fashion weeks in Europe to raise more brand awareness and exposure for Caribbean fashion brands. The 14 reasons why 2014 was good for me

20141004_233050

While we are already two weeks into the year of 2015, I have to take a minute and be thankful for everything that happened to me in 2014. The year 2014 was a good year for me privately, socially and careerwise. Since a lot of bloggers are posting about the best of 2014, highlights of 2014 or the best outfits of 2014 and so on, I didn’t want to jump on that bandwagon, but still want to give you my version of a review of 2014. First ever Caribbean Fashion Show in Barcelona, Spain

Caribbean Fashion Show Shoko

The first Caribbean Fashion Show organised by Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot is a fact. On Sunday October 12, a Caribbean fashion showcase was held in a beautiful venue near the Barceloneta beach called Shoko. As the PR Executive of Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot, I was very proud of our first fashion show, given the work of CEO and founder Dymuñeca. She picked the designers, put together a group of models – mostly of Caribbean descent -, put together the runway looks and produced the show. Chapeau! It was the first ever Caribbean fashion show in Europe. Continue reading “First ever Caribbean Fashion Show in Barcelona, Spain”

Back from Barcelona

20141008_100302

After a week in Barcelona, Spain, I am back home in the Netherlands and recharging from my vacation. Yesterday morning I arrived home and man I needed some rest. It was a fun week where I celebrated my 30th birthday, took part in the first fashion show of Caribbean Fashion Spot and even had a little get away to Lloret de Mar. What a week. Can’t believe it went by so fast. Like I said before, I wanted to take you on this trip with me, but sadly the wifi connection was so bad that every time I wanted to do a post it just didn’t happen, so sorry about that. Especially because I know that I said there would be a new post on the website everyday. Now I know that this is not always in my hands. And when I got home yesterday, I was too tired to post something. Continue reading “Back from Barcelona”

Just came back from AFWA and got on my laptop ASAP. In this quick plog I would like to give you a sneak peek at the pictures I took during the prep and backstage at Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam (AFWA 2014) today at the World Fashion Center (WFC) in Amsterdam. You’re going to see my snapshots of the set up, the catering, the fashion designers and the models talking things through, and the designers getting their models ready. How I experienced the CFW 2014 fashion shows in Kingston

DSC_0096

The Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica was the first international Fashion Week I’ve been to and therefore it’s definitely going in my Fashion History Book. It was a pleasure and honor to be there as one of the media to capture this event from the frontline for Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot. Like I told you before in this post about CFW, I was there as a part of the Caribbean Fashion Spot. That’s why I talk about “we” in my Jamaica posts. My biggest role at the Caribbean Fashion Week shows was that of photographer. In this post I will share my experience of being photographer, visitor and fashionista at the same time.
