Today marks the six month anniversary of my father’s death on August 19. So sudden and unexpected was this tragic news I never thought I would get so early in life. Those of you who follow my blog or Instagram know that I received this terrible news while enjoying my last hour in Paris last Summer. A trip that I took to explore Paris some more on my own and to experience Paris without the judgement from others around me. Too bad it had to end like this. Oh my, how time flies. These last couple of months have been nothing more than hard work for me. Just to keep my mind of the tragedy of losing my father. Ever since this tragic event, I have not written anything new from myself to you guys. Working was the thing to keep me from sitting around and being sad, that in this process I have spent most of my time doing things I didn’t really like. Eventually, all this hard work was sucking the energy out of my body. On top of that I found out that all this time I’ve spent working, has kept me from actually grieving and letting the loss sink in. There was never really a time for me. On this 40 year Srefidensi we celebrate our independence from the Netherlands. Being out here in the cold of the Netherlands, I can only imagine the celebrations that are going on across the Atlantic down there in Suriname, especially in Paramaribo, the capital city. Hello my dear readers. Hopefully you are all doing fine. Busy times have kept me from sharing all the great things I’ve experienced lately. So sorry about that. In between my different projects, including doing lots of (online) research for my business, I haven’t been able to post as much as I wanted to. But that is about to change.
Something I thank God for everyday is the fact that I am Lucky to still have my mother with me. Knowing that there are so many people out there who have lost the most important woman in their life, I consider myself blessed.
