Back in the nineties when Spice Girls was the number one girl group in the world, my favorite spice girls was always Victoria Beckham. Ever since I was a young girl, anything chic had my attention. Victoria with her band my name Posh Spice immediately caught my eye out of all the other girls in the group. On August 30 and 31 there will be 20 African and African inspired designers showing the beauty of African couture, art and fashion to a European and global audience. This post might be different from what you guys are used to, but it will be the first one of my entertainment section. In this post I would like you to meet Troy. A young and very handsome magician from Southeast London who now has his own television show on the Discovery channel. It was about a month and a half ago that I came across his show while zapping on tv and his looks made me stop on the Discovery channel immediately. And what a discovery it was. Ladies, you’re gonna thank me for this one. The name Troy made me think of a series or something, but when I read in the info that he was a magician, I had to see the show. Sadly, I was on my way out and couldn’t watch it at that moment but I recorded it and finally had a look today. Together with my mom I watched the show and then went on YouTube on tv for some more. The I love.. shirts are a fashion phenomenon and nowadays has become an integral part of casual street wear around the world. Most of you know the many I <3.. shirts of different cities like A’DAM, Berlin, London, Paris, Milan, Roma, Barcelona, Stockholm, NY, LA, Miami, Montreal, Tokyo and so on. In Suriname, where I’m from, there is the I Love SU fashion line and merchandise. While I’m not here to explain to you the history and demographics of Suriname, I can tell you that the population is not even close to one million citizens. Most people live in the capital city Paramaribo, and when there is talk about life in Suriname or going to Suriname it usually is about Paramaribo, but in general people speak of Su (short for Suriname). It is not like, for example, the United States or Spain (because of the big cities), that there is a I Love.. clothing line for almost every city. No, in small populated Suriname, like I said, they speak of Su. That is basically the history behind the choice of the name I Love SU.
