Jamaica Nostalgia: one year after

20140610_201635

Last year on June 10, I was on my way as part of Caribbean Fashion Spot (CFS) to Jamaica for the Caribbean Fashion Week in Kingston. This week I’m feeling a little nostalgic and like to look back on the great time I had during this “workaction”, starting with the trip to Kingston. The best trips are those of which you mix business with pleasure. If someone would’ve told me that one year later CFS would be in the middle of organizing its own Caribbean fashion show during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam (MBFWA), I would not have believed them. The 14 reasons why 2014 was good for me

20141004_233050

While we are already two weeks into the year of 2015, I have to take a minute and be thankful for everything that happened to me in 2014. The year 2014 was a good year for me privately, socially and careerwise. Since a lot of bloggers are posting about the best of 2014, highlights of 2014 or the best outfits of 2014 and so on, I didn’t want to jump on that bandwagon, but still want to give you my version of a review of 2014. How I experienced the CFW 2014 fashion shows in Kingston

DSC_0096

The Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica was the first international Fashion Week I’ve been to and therefore it’s definitely going in my Fashion History Book. It was a pleasure and honor to be there as one of the media to capture this event from the frontline for Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot. Like I told you before in this post about CFW, I was there as a part of the Caribbean Fashion Spot. That’s why I talk about “we” in my Jamaica posts. My biggest role at the Caribbean Fashion Week shows was that of photographer. In this post I will share my experience of being photographer, visitor and fashionista at the same time. Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica

CFW 2014 Jamaica

The reason I went to Jamaica was to attend the 14th edition of the Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 as a part of Dy Muñeca The Caribbean Fashion Spot. As the PR Executive (including photographer) and fashion & lifestyle editor I had to be there to capture this great event, meet designers, network, and just experience the Caribbean Fashion World.  Continue reading “Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Kingston, Jamaica”

Plog: My first impressions of Kingston

20140610_194425

Like I did with my first impressions of Atlanta, this is also a pictures only post of my first impressions of Kingston. Hope you enjoy these ass well. Starting with the first view of Jamaica taken from my window seat in the airplane, followed by a few boards on the wall at the airport upon arrival, which I really like. Then I have some shots of the first day and what food I had then, and some photos of the neighbourhood where I was in Kingston 5, in suburban Mona. While you all are looking at these photos I’m back in the Netherlands safe and sound.  Continue reading “Plog: My first impressions of Kingston”

Coming to Jamaica

Jamaican love

Today I am so happy to announce that I will be in Jamaica tomorrow for fashion business, as a part of Dy Muñeca the Caribbean Fashion Spot. We were invited to attend CFW 2014, the 14th edition of Caribbean Fashion Week, scheduled for June 11-16 in Kingston, Jamaica. So excited!!! Of all the islands I ever wanted to visit, Jamaica was always the first one I wanted to go to. Since I’ve never been on an island before, I call this faith! Continue reading “Coming to Jamaica”
